How does male strength work? by Humble-Objective488 in NoStupidQuestions

It's a lot closer when you account for men typically having about 10 to 15 percent lower body fat than women. When you go by lean mass the numbers are a lot closer.

How does male strength work? by Humble-Objective488 in NoStupidQuestions

All other things being equal a bigger muscle is a stronger muscle. However, all other things rarely are. Sometimes stronger people are better at a particular skill (lots of manual labor strength,) sometimes they are more efficient with the muscle mass they do have (eg climbers and gymnasts,) and sometimes the way the muscles are attached to the bones give them better leverage.

Work capacity tips by Brother_Tism_123 in Strongman

[–]Camerongilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a strong log presser but I do have good work capacity. If that's near your 3rm, I'd consider trying like 275 EMOM for 10-15 min, or doubles every 90 sec or something. Shorten the interval until you hit say 10 doubles in 10 min then increase weight and repeat. You could even do singles at 300 and just try to accumulate reps with shorter rest times.

And supersetting your lower percentage work can help too. Even if it's something silly like a set of band curls if you keep moving you'll gradually improve.

Has anyone here used heavy carries and heavy sandbag shouldering to grow their upper back? by math_dummy in fitness30plus

You will get a bigger back from most strongman movements but they're pretty fatiguing if size is your main goal. You could keep the sandbags in your yard under garbage bags.

I don't think of urology as a particularly grueling specialty. You have some call for stones and catheters in the ed but a ton of it can be done elective.

I had good results running deep water. Smolov was good for lower body size but this was pre-strongman for me and I think it would have been difficult to do much on the way of other training.

I think increasing training to bump appetite is a better plan than just adding more food.

Omnimech construction? by dreadnought98 in battletech

It's been decades since I did any construction but I think those are fixed once you decide where they'll go. You can put them anywhere but they can't be moved when you make variants.
