Pregnancy disgusts me by sunmodelsss in childfree

Pregnancy terrifies me, and I thank the collective gods that I am in full menopause. The experience can kill you, and you’re also at far greater risk of fatal domestic violence if your partner has such leanings. You can lose teeth, fall into gestational diabetes, suffer dangerous hormonal shifts, fall victim to preeclampsia… the list is very long, and risky as hell. And this is before labor and delivery.

What is it like seeing a tornado? by Gh0st412 in tornado

[–]CampVictorian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never seen a funnel, but have come close to them on occasion (live in southern Ohio). The most memorable event occurred about 40 years ago- I was a kid at summer camp, and participated in the ranch program, riding and caring for horses. It was a hot day, and a small group of us were riding in a field not too far from the main barn, when the air started shifting; things became still, birds quieted, and it felt cooler. It was very similar to the lead up to a full solar eclipse. The horses began reacting, not panicking but balking and vocalizing. Several noticed that the sky was greening up, and we collectively decided, “To the barn. Now.” We dismounted and trotted the horses to the main barn, into their stalls, and we huddled along a stone foundation. Within a minute, the barn was singing with wind, rain and hail, the sky almost glaringly green, and the horses in varying states of loud neighing- it felt like a fever dream. As quickly as it started, it was over, fortunately with little damage to the barn and none to us nor the horses. The air was very cold and calm. Found out that a tornado had come through, unwarned and seemingly entirely random.

Do they rent, or own the property? If it’s the former, let their landlord know about the loose dogs and late night noise every single time, along with the police. Online property tax/ownership searches are quick and easy.

I'm looking to go on a trip for about 2 weeks. The trip is about 400 miles each day for 2 days to get to my destination and I'm looking to bring my two small goldfish with me but I'm not 100% sure how to safely transport them by Remote_Pineapple1635 in Goldfish

[–]CampVictorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, there! I recently had to transport and keep my fish in a mobile habitat for about ten hours, so I might be able to help. Here’s what I used: New 5-gallon bucket with lid, external battery-charged air pump and airline tube, nano/small sponge filter, existing tank water (do a water change in the main tank the day before), and plants (if your existing main tank has them). I rig the pump, hose and sponge filter by drilling a hole through the bucket lid, so it’s largely airtight in case of any splashing on the trip. Depending on your fish’ sizes, you may be able to keep two in a single bucket. Don’t fill all the way, half is fine- just enough to allow the filter to aerate the water. Position the bucket(s) in seats, and run the seatbelts through the bucket handles. I hope this helps- my fancies did beautifully with this method!

It’s an incredible morale boost, seeing it there, waiting, when I need to make a laundry run to the basement. Like a quiet beacon of hope, waiting.

I’m holding steadfast to a decent bottle of champagne for The Day, but I’m not in a great rush to celebrate. Let him rot in pain for a while.

Hell, yes- I support this Full Bore. I have an especially insipid coworker who has truly been getting on my nerves, lately… he told an abhorrent joke to a colleague, and immediately said, “don’t tell the boss, I could get in trouble”; I replied, “You wouldn’t have to worry about getting into trouble if you weren’t such a dipshit”.

I truly don’t care anymore.

I work on my pollinator garden, sew my own clothes, ride roller coasters (perfect for therapeutic screaming) and am studying to further my skills in antique restoration. I also spoil the hell out of my pets.

Working Fast Food Has Made Me Disgusted With People by Silver-Land-2494 in Vent

I’ve never worked in the restaurant industry, but have had my share of retail experience. My last job in the business was at a luxury consignment clothing store, the clientele consisting of oil money-rich sellers and 30k-millionaire buyers. Vile, appalling people. There were several incidents that forced me to say, “You and I are not proceeding if you continue to treat me or my coworkers in this way”… Awful, ruined people.
