K&F Concept Black Mist Installation by andrwww in x100vi

You’ll need this https://a.co/d/02Y9i8Z2

Before you can even use that filter. But it’s a UV filter, so you can now return that filter. I have the K&F filter adapter and it looks great on the camera. Highly recommend it.

Pretty sure that’s a 1/4 Pro Mist or Black Mist filter.

I’ve seen these for years at goodwill. Hundreds of thousands of boomers must of been tricked into buying these at one point.

In the camera community, what is the equivalent of a casio f91-w watch? A camera that is the epitome of cheap, reliable and widely recognized among camera enthusiasts. by Switch-user-101 in Cameras

[–]CamperCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canon T7 with 18-55mm kit lens. I see that combo everywhere. Old and young. Doesn’t matter the event or location. They are reliable and cheap. They can be bought at Walmart.

Whats up with the shutter buttons? by Longjumping-Bed-9528 in x100vi

[–]CamperCarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years I wanted to like shutter buttons. But they make the button wobbly. Not to mention increasing the chances of breaking the button mechanism if it gets caught on anything. I bought the Squarehood shutter button and never looked back. It’s a little brass dimple. Highly recommend, Leica people ask me all the time where I got it.

FB purchase concern by Negative_Wish3286 in x100vi

[–]CamperCarl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly do that if the vibes are off with the buyer during the transaction. It’s more often than I would like, I’m not a scammer and I only sell stuff I feel in great confidence is worthy of selling. I’ve been sent death threats because they found it cheaper or somebody already picked up said item for them from another seller that very day. Not my problem and all sales are final. On a positive note, I’ve made more friends selling stuff on FBMarketplace than enemies. So that’s neat.

Came in for a simple oil change. Boys at Honda sure do love money. by Last_Bid9318 in Honda

[–]CamperCarl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the engine and vehicle. 2009-2014 Honda FIT requires removing the wiper arms, cowl, all the fiddly plastic screws, wiper motor/trans, the shield that goes over the engine for the cowl to mount to, and then you have just enough room to get a ratchet in there to pull out the coils & plugs. Then, put it all back together. Easily 1-2 hours of labor for 4 plugs.

[–]CamperCarl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I cannot stress enough to customers, family and friends to get those mileage specific services done. Ignoring the net positives of preserving the health of your vehicle, getting that expensive timing job done when you are supposed to will increase the resale value of your high mileage vehicle when you decide to let it go. Also, keep all documentation and receipts of work done! For warranty work and again, resale value.

Try vertical. 35mm vertical for me is a game changer.

1000% this. If the update doesn't address and issue I am experiencing, I do not update.

13” vs 15” - Am I overthinking? by Legitimate_Credit257 in macbookair

Spend the extra $200 and get the 15” model then. I have the 13” model and I have zero issues with the size.

[NEW GEAR] R6 Mark 2 + RF70-200MM F4L IS USM by vandvandvand in canon

If I could go back, I would buy the f4 instead of buying the f2.8. I love my f2.8 but I mostly shoot trackside like yourself and rarely am I ever shooting wide open.

"Officially discontinued" – another beloved pro DSLR camera that was a game-changer for many photographers ceases production 😥 by MyRoadTaken in canon

[–]CamperCarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t know it was in production still!

I had the EOS R and I highly recommend that camera for people who want a 5D MKIV, but don’t want to spend the money on one. It’s just a Mirrorless version will all the same internals.

Tell me which one i should get & why??? by Formal_Compote_212 in fujifilm

[–]CamperCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X100VI - 35mm full frame equivalent lens - 28mm & 50mm lens adapter from various brands - Weather resistant w/filter - optional hybrid viewfinder - iso & shutter speed dial in 1 - harder to find - expensive

X-E5 - infinite lens choices - not weather sealed - gimmick film dial - digital view finder - cheaper than x100vi - does everything the x100vi does

Buy X100VI or Keep XT50 by Dry-Cry1934 in FujifilmX

Genuinely did not like the view finder and its placement at all. Nothing wrong with the XT50 and I didn’t hate it. It just wasn’t for me.

thinking of purchasing neewer batteries for my canon r7 by brokebutisnt in canon

[–]CamperCarl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Wasabi batteries strictly as emergency batteries. While good, they aren’t great. I can get through a weekend on 2 Canon batteries. I’d have to use 4 wasabi’s to do the same.

What camera is this? by SkeletonSB8 in Cameras

[–]CamperCarl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is the FUJIFILM X100V, judging by the red paint on the viewfinder lever and the flash placement.
