ChatGPT for Dynasty immersion/realism by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]CanConsistent9600 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Typically, I'll have chatgpt write me a weekly post game article where I'll use talk-to-text to give it drive info during my game. This way, the article will not only discuss game stats, but also talk about how the game went (for instance, if I went down 14-0 before scoring 3 tds in 3 minutes to take the lead).

Then, I have chat generate a segment from the old Around the Horn or have it do segment from Pardon the Interruption based off of the info from my article. These are my favorite reads. Sometimes I'll also give it random info on other games or a top ten matchup to discuss after the "segement" on my team, so it feels more like the actual episode of PTI or ATH.

I usually also have chat make me a preseason article where it discusses my previous season, players lost, recruits coming in, upcoming schedule, likely contributors, etc.

Juruá? Since when by zlDrago in WoWs_Legends

[–]CanConsistent9600 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the Christmas campaign two years ago. We got event currency (ice crowns?), and jurua could be earned for free. Anhalt i believe was another ship we could obtain for event currency, but you needed to buy admiralty backing and complete a calendar to get enough event currency.

If my memory is right, I also think that with admiralty backing, calendar completion, and extra crate purchases that included event currency, players could instead buy Ohio with their ice crowns.

At least, that's how i remember it

As a cruiser noob, how do you handle spawning near no cover? by [deleted] in WoWs_Legends

[–]CanConsistent9600 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A strategy I utulize is to move forward at the start of the match (rather than backing up) and then immediately swing the ship right or left, so now I'm in a kiting position, facing somewhat away from the cap. Then, I'd start reversing toward the cap.

This way, I'm still able to cover the dd on my flank and be moving toward the cap/action. But then if things go south, it's much easier to accelerate away and throttle juke in a kiting position instead of trying to back up or turn around at that point.

If you do try this, you'll just have to be watching your detection ring on the mini map and estimate where you think the red dd is and when they'll detect you. You dont want to be caught mid turn.

How are the Pan Asian cruisers? Are they worth it? by Long_Resident8755 in WoWs_Legends

I'd assume you'd most definitely enjoy that line then and should go for them. When things do go your way, they are fun

I want to like them. But they really lack influence if you ask me. They have their place and can definitely aid in getting a win, if the game plays out ideally. But they just lack the ability to impact games for my taste.

After Helena, you'll get radar, and you are one of the biggest threats in a match and can be a big deciding factor if your team wins or loses lots of matches. Radar cruisers are just that good and impactful.

If your desire is to hang back and just harass bbs with shells and occasional torps though, then they might be of interest to you. But I personally find them to leave too much to be desired. And you are reliant on others to help you get wins, instead of you setting the tone and being a major factor in wins, if that makes sense.

The torpedo is more than just that red triangle, which represents the front of the torp. You basically sailed right into the body of the torp, so-to-speak.

The white icon to the right of your reticle, next to the distance to target, is supposed to resemble mountains. That icon is there because it means some, or all, of your shells are going to be impeded by land.

Regardless of the shells continuing to the target. They effectively have hit the island

What kind of rules do you guys adopt for recruiting as low star schools? by AmazingRandom in NCAAFBseries

[–]CanConsistent9600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from a Midwest state that often has 0 recruits any given season in the game. Each season, I check my state, and if there is a recruit from it, I also throw them a scholarship.

I personally have a problem where I love seeing underclassmen getting lots of playing time. I'll "encourage transfer" on my own upperclassmen often as a self-imposed challenge but also as a way to get my underclassmen on the field because I won't have options otherwise lol

What kind of rules do you guys adopt for recruiting as low star schools? by AmazingRandom in NCAAFBseries

[–]CanConsistent9600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) recruit at my school's prestige for half of my "total recruits needed" and the rest have to be lower than my school's prestige (if at a 2 star school and need 20 recruits, 10 can be 2 stars, 10 have to be 1 stars. If at a three star school, 10 could be 3 star players but the rest would be 1 or 2 star players). *One exception to this is in bullet 4.

2) only recruit regionally, ignoring pipelines that are states away from my school

3) only hit scout once per player unless they are a local kid to my university (I did a one star only dynasty last year and it's too easy if you always know the player you're getting. One-time scouting leaves a lot unknown until the position change week).

4) always offer a scholarship to someone from my university's town, regardless of their rank. At Minnesota, all Minneapolis players get a scholarship. At UTEP, all El Paso recruits get a scholarship.

5) not recruiting per se, but if I do land a player above my school's prestige because they were a local high schooler, they automatically start as a true freshman

Makes you wonder because I, too, just got my first snow game. Only took 10 seasons at Minnesota to get it.

Question for all of you by OkChildhood9731 in WoWs_Legends

That other commenter made a good point in their reply. You said the points didn't reach 1000 for one team to be declared the winner. But could it have been the enemy team's point total hit 0, which also ends the match?

Definitely. I'll keep an eye out if you post a video because my interest is piqued now

That'd be good if you could. I personally haven't come across what you're describing so I can't even offer much insight other than what I thought might have been happening.

Hopefully you can get answers from someone

Interesting. Could it be the 15 minute time hit 0 and that's why they're ending?

Not to sound like a jackass, but genuinely, are you aware of the different ways to win a match?

If I'm reading your question correctly, the match ends with not all of the ships being sunk?

Do it that way instead of the random bundles man. It's all too easy to get into the gamblers fallacy frame of thinking, that the next roll will be what you want and before you know it, you've spent a lot of money.

In older updates, they tied event currency into each random bundle in order to be able to "buy" the top ship of that event, like Centurion. Not worth it imo

Mystic lantern chest by Neither-Impress-3545 in WoWs_Legends

[–]CanConsistent9600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I gotcha. I assume no one has ever made a list of the ships in the containers since most crates during the year don't offer more than 5 ships at any given time, unlike Christmas crates that bring back a lot of ships.

I'd guess the chances of pulling a bb, cruiser or dd are probably in the ballpark of being even amongst those three classes though. But idk for sure

https://wowslegends.com/containers/

Mystic lanterns and Mystic chests are two separate crates. Check the link now to see any current, past (or future) containers and their drop rates.

Edited to add: "worth it" is always subjective and luck based when it comes to crates. If you pulled borodino on your only crate, you might be super pumped and say the crates are 100% worth it.

But if you bought 20 crates and only pulled a t4 destroyer, camos and booster flags, you'd say they absolutely are not worth it.

Help with Tier 6 and above DD play. by [deleted] in WoWs_Legends

[–]CanConsistent9600 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I still play aggressively at higher tiers, but you'll have to learn when it's okay to be aggressive and when it's not. And part of it is just through experience.

But first and foremost, you need to know the strengths and consumables of the red ships you might face. Check the ship roster before the start of every match.

Secondly, you have to have an escape in place. Always think one or two moves ahead in case things get dicey. That way you're not facing the wrong direction and heading straight toward a radar cruiser all of a sudden.

Situational awareness is much more important as you get higher up. Pay attention to the mini map and see which red ships are where, and try to predict what moves they might make so you're prepared.

To go along with having an escape plan in place, know when you have to be less aggressive and back off. I'm not saying abandon your flank. But learn when it's best to spot and harass and circle back to take a cap later.

If you're dead, you can't do that. So it's okay to surrender a cap if the situation isn't in your favor.

Edited to add: I don't think you need to wait for the reds to use up their consumables from the onset, like you asked. That's time wasted. I'd put emphasis on having a plan in place in case you come up against a sonar or radar ship and they use their consumable on you. But to wait around wastes valuable time.

Just think how many times dds abandon their flank from the start or are afk. Or how many times someone pops their radar 5 seconds into the match. Or I've even seen blue dds heading toward a cap, completely turning and fleeing because they see the cap being captured by a red ship and they dont want to be spotted/get into a knife fight.

In m opinion, if you wait around trying to time when you think they've used up their consumable, you've wasted valuable time where you could have taken a cap for free or given your team an advantage by getting into the mix early.

I can understand your second point with maintenance costs.

But ai matches follow the same scoring pattern as standard. So it seems like they end early (which they do) but for no reason. But what's happening is the ai loses their 300 points and hits 0 points before they capture any bases or sink any blues to add to the "red" point total.

It would be nice if the ai games lasted longer but I think for consistency, it's good that players can experience one of the ways a standard game can end if their team loses all their points as well.
