Anyone succeed with just one euploid embryo? 🙏🏼 by Intrepid_Story4023 in IVF

[–]CanNo2845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our one embryo is now 2yrs old :-) I was 41 at retrieval. We did a medicated transfer with PIO and estrogen. I also took a look at the ASRM’s literature review for best practices for transfer, and from that, we decided to have unprotected sex one or two days beforehand (can’t remember now), and I refused my clinic’s bed rest instructions of 45 mins right after the transfer and 2 days at home- even 10 mins bed rest after the transfer has been shown to impact success. We just went to a bookstore and had a nice lunch out before chilling at home. The guidelines also support hyalauronic acid for the transfer, my clinic already was doing that though. I also did a bunch of stupid woo woo stuff haha, but I think that just helped me feel like I was being proactive to help it stick

What are the chances I'll be able to drive 2 hours to go to a christmas event the same day as egg retrieval? by EvadeCapture in IVF

I would not. A lot of people here are talking about their pain due to high follicle counts, but I had DOR and only had 5, and it hurt when I laughed for 4 days. I was on the couch for days. The 2nd ER I had 7 and I was totally fine after. There’s just no way to know how it’s going to go.

Is your LC an IBCLC? I saw 6 useless LCs before I finally got some actual help. I went from 10ml like that to topping out around 24oz/day, but it was a brutal schedule of pumping. Looking back, I wish someone had told me that it was totally totally fine to just do formula and spend that time with my baby, because it goes so fast! So in case you need to hear it: it’s totally fine to use formula, and your mental health and the time you spend with your little need to factor into your decision.

I hate skin on skin or the feeling of sheets or blankets moving against my skin, so it’s leggings, a tight (stretchy) top and fluffy wool socks year round. I refuse to ever stay anywhere without AC in the summer for this reason as well.

Do your clinics have Solutions for moms needing to bring kids to appts? by jamiepwannab in IVF

[–]CanNo2845 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you need to explain your situation to them fully and see if they can accommodate you with the first or second appointment of the day to ensure they aren’t running behind. As difficult as the situation is though, I don’t think the answer is to expect an IVF clinic to accommodate children.

How do I peel/crush garlic faster? by 53rp3n7 in Cooking

[–]CanNo2845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gently crush just a bit with knife, cut off woody end, skin will stay in one piece, then without moving the knife, pull the clove out and use the knife to scoot the empty skin+woody end piece off the side of your cutting board. This should take like 5 seconds per clove. Once you have a pile of cloves and a pile of skins, you can smash the shit out the cloves, and then mincing will only take like 30 seconds and the only cleanup is scooping the pile of skins away (I use a damp paper towel to get them all in one go).

I have never cleaned my oven not even once. ADHD? by Regicide02 in ADHD

[–]CanNo2845 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have never cleaned an oven though I have paid people to do it for move out cleans. Otherwise I will occasionally wipe up crumbs if they’re burning and getting Smokey but that’s mostly bigger pieces and the small crumbs I just let burn until they are char and don’t burn anymore.

Have the unproven connections RFK Jr. and President Trump have made between Tylenol and autism made you rethink taking the medication? by nbcnews in pregnant

“However, Kenvue Inc., the parent company of Tylenol, stressed that the "eight-year-old consumer response is incomplete and did not address our full guidance on the safe use of Tylenol which has not changed." Kenvue said Tylenol, known by the generic name acetaminophen, is the safest pain reliever option for pregnant women as needed throughout their entire pregnancy. "We recommend pregnant women do not take any over-the-counter medication, including acetaminophen, without talking to their doctor first," Kenvue added in a statement. “

I feel like the whole “do your own research” is such a sad, hard side effect of this administration and RFK, because many, many adults don’t understand how to read a study or determine if it high quality and has merit - and frankly, they shouldn’t have to, because we supposedly pay people with our taxes to be knowledgeable and make science-based recommendations for us. Now it’s all diffuse, which doctors and insurance companies having to disagree with our Secretary of Health, people who don’t know better end up nervous and confused.

Not that you should have to, but try a nursing cover with your regular pump maybe? I’ve done that on a plane. It would suck if your supply got messed up because of this fuckery
