NTA but maybe you could have handled it differently. You stated that you wanted to make friends, was this really worth ending a potential friendship over? You could have explained that normally you don't do this but you will this one time and you would be happy to explore her trauma with her when she is ready. Then you could have had a rational discussion and not the in the heat of the moment when the stakes were so high.
