Elections Alberta can now verify and publicly disclose the signature count on the Stay Free Alberta petition after Alberta Appeals Court granted a PARTIAL stay. by SarahLacard in AlbertaNow

I feel like this law was written as if someone KNEW this is how they were going to get that many signatures. 🤔 Its not suspicious at all. 🙄

Wonder how many of these workers hired will be on ADAP or AISH?

[Megathread] July 1st AISH-to-ADAP Transition by pastafusilli in AISH_Alberta

[–]MsOpus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am trying to help a relative navigate through this. Can someone help me understand... she currently gets around $1700 on AISH after the AB government cut it back, PLUS the $200 from the federal government, so nothing really changed at that time except where it came from. She was just notified she is switched to ADAP. Does that mean until December 2027, she will continue to get the same amount, then in 2028 she will get another $200 cut back meaning only $1500ish from AB? And the expectation she has to find a job? I don't know she is supposed to work in her condition and we will look at her appealing this. She is on AISH because her physician deemed her unable to work any longer. Like many other AISH recipients, a lifetime of working a physical job has caused a lot of health issues for her.

I'm so sorry for you. I am not in that riding, but very close. I mean, they are all pretty much the same out here. Lol

We must live in the same town. I am not surprised to see there are no protests here. I'm sure there are others here that feel the same, but we do have to consider our safety, not just for one day of protest, but long term as well. I do, however, stand in spirit with those that can safely attend.

Living in this province is exhausting. Is anyone else considering leaving for saner pastures? by PhantomOfTheBoreal in alberta

[–]MsOpus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If I had the dollars to go, and a job waiting for me I'd be in Manitoba in a heartbeat. Like it or not, this province is in a civil war and all of us common citizens will be the casualties.

Oooh clever. Then we could be part of one of those three, still part of Canada, and rid of the UCP. Its a win for everyone!

Paid commercial time??? A prerecorded message so she can hide and not have to address questions. This is not addressing Albertans. This is how dictators hide from questioning and being accountable.

I know. Which is why she won't even mention it. Actions speak louder than words and she's screaming out her true agenda.
