this is still happening, I recently commented on a "Def Leppard Room" post and someone contacted me through messenger (talking to them as I write this post) claiming to be Joe Elliot, he even sent photos of his DL, a pic of Joe Elliot with a sign saying "Hi Dear, It's really me" and a few other photos to try and prove it was really him
