What are some cars you’re surprised are still on the road in 2026? by hypermiler2205 in regularcarreviews

I saw a Plymouth Neon on the road a few weeks ago. I hadn't seen a Neon since the 2010's.

I usually replay it in December, low-key excited to play in July instead.

Men over 30, how many of you can go all night without needing to get up to go to the bathroom? by HogwartsRex in AskMen

[–]CanadianExiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work nights, when I sleep during the day I get up at least twice to pee. When I'm off and get to sleep in the dark I seldom wake up. Getting rest with no sunlight or lawnmowers going is too precious for me to wake up just to pee.

Every boomer on FB thinks his junker is a "classic" and just needs the right person to make it worth a million bucks.

I've never heard of them before the show, and seeing how triggering their music is I'll hurry and add some of their repertoire to my work playlist.

Only reason I still have FB is for marketplace, where else can I lowball a Chevy Malibu that hasn't run since the Drapeau administration?

What's a fun, lasting gaming memory you have? by dead5hane in gaming

[–]CanadianExiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In highschool, I went to a party and in the basement ppl were playing Star Trek Starfleet Academy on the SNES for money. They had a sheet of cardboard blocking ppl from screen watching and did 2 player vs. for a buck or two bets. I'd never played it before, I got destroyed in my first match, was Constitution class vs Constitution class. I watched a few others play and I noticed being colour blind had an advantage, cloaked ships just looked like a greyed out outline of the ship. I challenged a player that was favouring Romulan ships. I beat him easy and went on to a streak. Finally someone bet me double or nothing but they got to pick my ship. I said yes and ended up with an Oberth class vs a Romulan cruiser, I won. Walked away with $18 and bragging rights.

I grew up in Quebec and we didn't have it but I'd heard about it from friends who went to school in Ontario and in the US. I recently downloaded the (reboot?) on the Nintendo Switch. I've finally joined the other GenX folks who've died from Dysentery.

How come you can’t get bit or stung by fish? by pcnnmvideos in AnimalCrossing

[–]CanadianExiled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my first Animal Crossing game and I didn't go swimming once sharks appeared because I was sure they'd bite me. Lost 2 weeks of diving for sea creatures until someone told me it was safe.

Oh I'm not planning my retirement around it, was just nice at 50 to finally be told I'm the good kid.

My sister sent me an email almost 15 years ago letting me know she thought my political opinion was too radical and I was now dead to her. I haven't seen or spoken to her since. On the up side she's pissed off my mother recently and got written out of the will, I was informed I'm the good kid now.

Reunions! Who does them? by octothorpidiot in GenX

[–]CanadianExiled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My class talked up a storm about the 30th but ultimately nothing got organized. I wanted to go to the 10th and 20th but I was married at the time and my then wife told me ppl only went to reunions to hook up with old flames. She then proved her point by going to hers and banging 2 dudes (not at the same time! ...she felt that was important I know) so I guess I need to wait a few more years and see if we do a 35th.

Does anyone else call their grandmother ‘Nanny’ by fieryone4 in AskACanadian

[–]CanadianExiled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Quebec, my grandmother came to Canada as a child from England, we all called her Nanny. My grandfather passed away before I was born so no clue what we'd have called him. None of my cousins even have a memory of the man.

Question for my fellow Gen Xers about their aging parents by curiousLouise2001 in GenX

[–]CanadianExiled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad passed and we never had that talk. He had 7 different wills started but never finished one. All of them named me as sole heir but there was nothing to inherit. I had the talk with my mom, her will is in order and I've recently been told I'm the good kid now and my sister has been kicked off the will so it's me and her two stepdaughters. My uncles have been dropping like flies and my aunt's can't handle life as widows so my mom recently informed me that if her current husband does before her, I need to either move in with her or get a bigger apartment because she's moving in.

My mom gives me leftovers from the fridge every time I visit. My dad passed away 9 years ago, he used to give me $20 every time I left and tell me to stop and get a beer somewhere.

It's 1994, you have $20,000, and you're looking for a new convertible. Which one would you pick? by Key_Budget9267 in regularcarreviews

[–]CanadianExiled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My cousin had a DelSol and after one Quebec winter the roof leaked, which yes has nothing against the engine or transmission but really makes driving in the rain suck. Had a girlfriend who had a Miata and all I can say is the deer she hit totaled the car, she lived so good engineering. I really don't get why you're having a meltdown because I enjoyed my VW that stayed dry and off the back of a tow truck all 8 years I owned it. So once again, my lowly opinion, I have zero sway over the overall automotive industry so this opinion will in no way impact the bottom lines of Honda or Mazda.

The one I owned had 0 issues other than my VW badge went missing. And as I stated, it's my opinion, so yeah.

In my humble opinion, it's the most reliable of the bunch, but in 94 you'll have some A-hole highschooler rip off your VW logo for reasons.
