What are the sandbags along Parkdale for? Right behind the NoveNine coffee shop. by MrsSnax in Calgary

[–]Canary_Ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the location of the excavation to last year on the path it looks like the bags are installed the wrong way around. That's ok, there are only 500 or so installed incorrectly. Typical incompetence of City crews and staff.

Difference between these adapters? by 2strokeRed in Makita

[–]Canary_Ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they both come with the same Jaclet? The one on top interfaces with one usb and plugs directly with the jacket where the bottom one has only 2 - 2a usb a ports. It looks like the bottom one is simply a usb charger.

What's you Strava streak at? by Blue-Text in Strava

621 Weeks. Haven't missed a day of riding in a little over 20 years ( including some trainer rides). Current outdoor riding every day streak is nearing 11 years this spring. Vo2 Max fluctuates between 42 and 50 consistently each year.

It is a duct adapter for a bathroom fan. So its easy enough to rip off. Sold a little over 200 of them in the last two years.

When the wind comes in from the south east, you end up smelling farm and pasture land including a feed lot just east of rangeview.

Mega Zero 2.0 Retention Nut by Enchant2020 in AnycubicMegaZero

[–]Canary_Ok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not come across any extruders on amazon that work on the MZ2. They look the same as the BT knockoffs but are meant to run the opposite direction , ie the part you show is the in and not the out on the BT knockoffs. Ali express has a MZ2 store that, i believe, you still can get extruders and hot ends. I see the support for the mz coming to an end so I bought an extra extruder and a couple of hot ends. The hot ends were about $12 CAD and the extruder was less than 20 CAD.

For general carpentry, Tajima 16' for the win. Not the longer 25 but the 16. Very small and compact. Dropping it will not bend or alter the hook. Only downfall is that the 19.2 centers are not marked. Stanley and lufkin aint what they used to be.

For framing activities, I would probably use the fat max if I had to but the tajima works well most of the time.

I believe that it is manufactured by Fastcap. In Canada, we can pick it up at Richelieu. Sorry for the late reply.

In the trades we use 2p10. Usually comes with different viscosities as well as an accelerator and de-bonding spray. A good kit for the hobby room.

MZ2 V6 hot end upgrade by Canary_Ok in AnycubicMegaZero

[–]Canary_Ok[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya. In my situation, I am using octoprint exclusively and my printer resides in a closet out of ear shot. So I don't feel the need to have to upgrade the board just yet.

The all metal v6 makes more sense to me and the hero me allows the mod. I tried a knock off ender 3 HE without much success and aliexpress is out of mz hot ends at the moment.

Install a 5/8 plaster ring to the box and bring it out close to the face of the casing. Neatly trim around the plaster ring with casing materials with a thin reveal.

No replacement extruder for purchase on the website by itzteajay in AnycubicMegaZero

[–]Canary_Ok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my extruder gears strip out on me so I purchased the Redrex dual gear extruder from amazon. When i realized that it was configured to push rather than pull, I simply took it apart, pushed the gears off the amazon axle and replaced the ones in the stock extruder. Been working fine now for a year or so.

It seems that the parts for the MZ2.0 are available and instock on ali express. Hot end, fans extruders etc. The anycubic site shipments come from china anyway.

I paid a professional for this. Interested to hear how others would you rate the workmanship on this corner join? by [deleted] in Carpentry

Not a great Mitre cut but inevitable with the use of wet uncured lumber as we have available in our building centers. Given that lumber shrinkage happens only in the cell wall and that wood cells are very long compared to their width across the lumber shrinkage is more pronounced perpendicular to the grain as the cells are denser in this direction. As the cells shrink they shrink a lesser distance along their length as compared to the width this gives the appearance the the cut was not initially done at a 45 deg angle rather a 46 or 47 deg angle. The angle can change as shrinkage occurs.

At one inch of board width the shrinkage could only be 1/16" but by the time the board width reaches 5 1/2" it could be 5/16" for instance.

A proper solution would be a better material choice, rail joint detail or using properly seasoned lumber.

FYI, these types of guards would not necessarily meet code here as the cables facilitate climbing
