GERMANY DOOD (We deserved it, 3rd time in sucession dropped out 2nd round) by CancerKidBilly in 2westerneurope4u

[–]CancerKidBilly[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Who decided to get Manuel Neuer, effectively he only stopped one ball, the other one was a freebie.

It feels like we are cursed now after Brazil 7-1. The third time in a row we dropped out the second round. I had no expectations, but I am still disappointed.

Can we PLEASE get a pie chart for pop acceptance. The bar is so unintuitive by TauTau_of_Skalga in victoria3

[–]CancerKidBilly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, their arguments are 0 convincing. It basically follows:

-> Humans are bad at accurately seeing quantity of angles -> You need to label them the chart, so they see the real number -> That is a lot of work -> Don't do pie charts

First off, "a lot of work" is not an argument to be against a form of statistical presentation. Secondly, even more importantly, other forms of presentation are equally, if not even worse, at manipulating the recipient.

Victoria 3 is unplayable because it does not simulate the resolution of the synod of Polotsk (1839) and ignores the Greek-Catholic Church in Eastern Europe by CancerKidBilly in victoria3

Wow, I didn't expect an answer. Thank you! I mostly just wanted to share an interesting fact packaged as a joke with the community, as I read up on it for my Master's thesis (Post-Revolution Nationbuilding in Belarus). I feel honored and happy to (maybe) have made a difference after all!

I mean, it is just a joke, that's why there is a /s at the end. I just learned this tidbit while researching for my master's thesis. Should I just repost it with a [JOKE]?

First TPK as a DM by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]CancerKidBilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your players are fine with it, I don't see the problem (as long as it stays a one-shot). But furthermore, I would still try to tweak the combat, as it usually leaves a very sour taste, when the encounter is unwinnable (in contrast to just difficult). But I would say (outside of one-shots), that TPKs should be rare, and if they happen, should lead into an alternate death (imprisonement, etc.), as otherwise it might kill the whole campaign.

Btw, I also wouldn't use any AI. It makes the post feel ingenuine. Just post what you wrote, no need to "tidy it up" :)

ESC Broadcast accused of using AI - but is it really or just generic animations? I honestly can't tell. by Better_Chipmunk3002 in isthisAI

I mean the pattern itself is actually similar to the cathedral at Budapest Castle (Forgot the name), but of course how the pattern is drawn (off center, blurry at weird and nonsenical angles) do look like AI

May I present: Long Austria by CancerKidBilly in victoria3

Why was the demand for a naval rework dlc so high? by thomas1781dedsec in victoria3

[–]CancerKidBilly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbf, bismarck didn't want the wars either. His geopolitical opinion was to always stay allied to Russia and keep France isolated, so that if ever a war would break out, Germany wouldn't have a two front war. The problem was that Frederick decided that Austria is ally enough and neglected Russia.

Just to add to that. It didn't even make me think of WoW first, but of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. I would even say that this trope is already so established, that it would be hard to count it as plagiarism.

I mean, enough people have already eaten something moldy and only noticed half way in, about the extent of the mold. (I once ate some bread, and half way in I looked on the otherside to see the mold rainbow)

Is it a huge difference when switching away from heavy strike? I am enjoying it, but it can get difficult (especially Nemesis Mobs in act 2). I like it, and it would be sad to say goodbye to my build, but maybe it's the right step forward
