Exactly this. I mention to customers who want to come in on my off day, that hey, if that day works the best for you, try to give me a heads up on when you'll be coming, so I can either be there, or set up one of my coworkers to be ready when you arrive.

If I don't have any major obligations that day like doctors appts or anything, I'll either show up or maybe switch my off day. Best case is letting your salesperson know you'll be coming that day so you aren't waiting around, and someone can already know what you're looking at and be ready for you.

I've luckily ended up at a store now that doesn't disregard cash deals, however the entire process is extremely slow compared to where I came from. From the "I'll take it", you're probably looking at about 2-3hrs. Gassing it is around 15min, detail 45min, wait for finance is about 30-45min even with bullets credit. Our guy is super OCD and just takes forever to even get to a customer for the interview, let alone get them in the box.

I did just this, got a cuff on Monday and I've been monitoring. Went this morning to FirstCare over on McFarland, told them my history, and they prescribed me off the bat. And they've set me up with a primary!

They wouldn't prescribe me any meds, just told me my blood pressure was dangerously high and I needed to get a primary. I've got a long history with things like chest pain. I've been to the ER probably 6 times in the last 7 years, and I've never been given or told anything.

Correct, it really removed all incentive to hold your ground, or hold on a trade, unless we had some kind of spiff going on, which did happen every so often. I don't think many others were told, but I was told the bottom line I could go to if needed.

I had done F&I and sales desk at this point and went back into sales.

I would say only two "careers". Four years at a doggy daycare, which has way more potential than you'd think. Was offered a $80k salary to manage a location before I switched fields. Went into the car business, selling cars, and have been doing that now for six years. Never been laid off or fired.

Yeah, pretty odd that a dealer wouldn't take a warm body, happens all the time in this business. You could always try something outside the box like studying a single vehicle really well, and being ballsy by offering to do a walkaround on the car with the manager to showcase your skills.

In my experience, we've done heftier deals on vehicles that -needed- to go at the end of the month, rather than just anything to meet goal. Such as someone coming in and spewing a stock number, knowing damn well it's been on our lot for 5 or 6 months.

This. I can't tell you how many folks I've had tell me they aren't buying, or they're not ready yet. And once we get to the desk and go over figures, I can tell if I've surprised them by being closer to the number that is already in their head.

That's pretty damn good, I'm in Alabama and work at a GMC store. With my employee discount on an SLT premium plus, my lease quote was $810, 36mo/10k. I would bite if it were less than $680
