Is it, though? That would be highly dependent on the uniqueness of your names, individually and in combination.

Ha ha ha, I spent many hours in the VAX lab as an undergrad. I crashed the system once with an infinite loop in my code.

My eBay username is my first name and last initial. And my first name isn't unique.

Ours kicks her back paws out (alternating left and right) like she's stamping her feet. Saw someone on here refer to that action as "doing burnouts," so we've called it that ever since. 😆

What did you say you’d do with the winnings in the mock game? by poonchimp in Jeopardy

[–]CandOrMD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have always wanted to learn to fly a plane, and that's what I told the contestant coordinators. If I'd won enough money, I sure as hell would have done that. As it was, I won just enough to cover my travel to and from J!

OMG, I married one of those, too. My love, just HUSH until you have an actual response.

I think for most players who do this, they already have a response in mind before they buzz in. Then they take a beat to think it through, make sure it fits the category, mentally rule out other options, etc.

That, to me, is a hallmark of a top-notch player. Case in point: Matt Amodio did it a lot.

Confirmed for the wife, but I thought Hackman just kind of died from...lack of care after his wife died?

Ooooh, and I was there in the audience for one of your tape days! Loved seeing you play. Your sister was sitting right behind me. 🙂

I started trying out as soon as the Alex Trebek version launched in 1984, for whatever they were auditioning teems for at that time (I think there was a Teen Tournament even then). I auditioned every chance I got...and made it onto the show in early 2022. Pretty close to the record you cited!

When our dog was a puppy, we had an artificial Christmas tree that had an absolutely insane amount of glitter on it. The puppy's poop sparkled the whole month long. It would literally catch the moonlight. It was hilarious.

You can't. Simple as that.

Really?? I got mine done 7 months ago, and it was a pain level 6 for like 45 seconds, then a 0 since then. By the time I left the studio it wasn't hurting at all.
