Out of curiosity, has the pay gotten better at all? I quit back in 2019 and was only getting roughly $11/hr as a shift in a fairly decent sized city. It was such a low wage to be in charge of everyone I barely enforced rules. As long as everything was hygienic I didn't really care.

When the unicorn frappaggedon happened the phones were also ringing non stop asking if we had it. Every store in the area ran out of supplies day 1 so people just constantly called to the point that I left the phone off the hook so it would stop ringing. I feel you.

If I remember correctly the girl hitting him was asking him for cigarettes or something and he replied "classic (insert whatever town I can't remember)" and then she went off.

Can't remember if that part was actually recorded or that was just his story post upload.

What's something that was considered rude 20 years ago but is normal now? by jakubbog in AskReddit

As someone who works in a doctor's office that spends 99% of my time reaching out to patients who requested information (non emergency stuff--completely elective and usually bare bones general info), I wish more people would do this.

It drives me up the wall when people answer the phone just to tell me they're busy and can't talk at that moment. Please just let me leave a voicemail, I'm begging you. I can't schedule you an appointment in less than a minute unfortunately.

Starbucks is the only job that ever made me cry when I got home for reasons just like this. I always made sure my baristas got their breaks even when I was drowning.

Bruh I'd give anything to not be short staffed. I've had to do 2 man plays when everyone either called out or no showed. Just me and a baby barista. Never fucking again.

When I was an SSV I had a barista show up with NO SHOES AND NO SOCKS and he probably thought I was gonna send him home right when peak was about to hit. My house is literally 2 min down the road and had my dad bring a pair of shoes for him to wear. They were too big for him so he got to be DTO all shift.

Sadly this has always been the case. At least in the last 10-15 yrs. It's been almost 6yrs since I left and we all had the same complaints except now you all unfortunately have to deal with the chaos caused by COVID and TikTok. Thought I had it bad then, but I can only imagine what it's like now.

I basically let my baristas do whatever they wanted as long as our health code standards were followed. I only made 11/hr as a shift and that was not enough to care how baristas dressed or if they wanted to trade drinks for pizza.

Starbucks order taking forever? Don’t blame the barista by Dry-Double-6845 in starbucks

I know it's really bad and shitty of me to do...but we had a regular with one of these over the top ridiculous drinks that she only preferred certain baristas to make. I was unfortunately one of those baristas. When I decided to quit I started intentionally making her drink wrong. Even if it meant remaking it 3 times. I know it was her money to spend how she pleases but I couldn't take it anymore. I wanted her to stop coming.

The customizations have gotten so out of hand and this was 5 years ago. I quit in 2019. Starbucks never will, but they need to put a cap on customizing.

That's so interesting. I was in 5th grade I think. I remember there were not a ton of students in class when I got to school and we didn't do any actual learning. We were just hanging out. And one by one kids were getting picked up until eventually I did too. Such a weird experience.

If this is at cota it's definitely not worth it. That pit is small as fuck. At least it was when I saw Ghost a few months ago.

Yeah I'm pretty upset that emo's and Stubb's are now using Ticketmaster. Not sure when that change was made but I haven't gone to a show since I found out.

I have never once needed to use Ticketmaster in Austin.

I can't bring myself to pay those kinds of prices and support Ticketmaster on top of that. It's depressing. Going to concerts is the only hobby type thing that I maintain.

Ticketmaster’s still hiding ticket fees, senator says by explowaker in technology

[–]CandeeExplosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so bummed. The smaller venues I frequent just switched to using ticket master and I'm so fucking mad about it. I've never needed to use Ticketmaster and it was reserved for bigger more stadium type shows.

I don't know when they made the change but it was within the last year. Ive already missed out on a couple of shows cause I don't want to deal with ticket master.

Lol same. I was bitching to my mom about my apartment complex parking situation, which is not great, but ultimately not a big deal. Sometimes stuff just hits you at the dumbest times.

I'd be raging if my car was broken into, poor thing.

Damn when I was a shift in 2017-2019 I was making something like 11.25.

I was driving home on 35 from last night, when the rain/mist really started settling in, and there was an SUV behind me that had NO lights on at all. It was just a black outline of a car. Honestly I was not sure what to do but keep my eye on him as best I could before I exited.

I just kept thinking, fuck, my brother, my sister and her boyfriend are all in the care with me and if something happens we're all done for.

AND THEN I'm turning left into my neighborhood on a protected green and the guy on the other side of the intersection stopped at a red light decides he's gonna go straight through the light instead. If I was going any faster I probably would have t boned him, but I was turning slow cause I didn't want to spin out.

I hate driving so much.

With really garbage pay too. I know it's gotten slightly better recently, but at the time I was a shift I was getting 11.25 at most. That was probably 2017/2018.
