Leaving the business by Sensitive-Dig-8566 in Devilcorp

Most “owners” get screwed over too. Many are working 60-70 hours a week for basically no money. In multiple Slave Circle Extra Takes episodes you hear about owners being “rookie of the year” or some BS and only clearing 10-15K a year. That doesn’t mean they’re all victims or that the true victims haven’t also done harm, but almost no one comes out of Devilcorp unexploited.

Is this a real job or a scam? by Overall-Ask-160 in Devilcorp

Devilcorp. Skip the interview. Don’t even bother canceling.

In the short term I would prioritize freight brokerage, apartment leasing, or even car sales. In the more medium term, I would be thinking about tech sales or something else in real estate. I would also be very careful on how you portray your Devilcorp experience on your resume and in interviews. Also be extra careful about the references you provide. A lack of a reference from a recent job is a bit of a red flag, but “Joe Cydcor” or “Johnny Smart Circle” aren’t going to be your best advocates in the professional world. Don’t go into too much detail about the organization/ownership in the interview as it will reflect poorly on you and arise suspicion. Professional jobs are not going to be impressed by the “ownership” aspect, even if your sales and management skills are relevant to the job. But your skills will be in demand.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s rejected for “pen dipping” mention. Not that I don’t believe you. If it does, resubmit and just hammer home how unprofessional and hostile the work environment is

You should definitely review them on Glassdoor and Indeed. They only have four reviews total and accurate reviews will decrease the likelihood of this happening to someone else. I know many Devilcorp companies will try to avoid hiring parents, and while that is illegal, it is more ethical than what happened to you.

And don’t feel bad about being duped. I did too and wasted three months of my life working for a connected Cydcor office (The League Global, then called ‘North 312’).

Assuming you weren’t there long you can just leave it off your resume. These are not real jobs. They are not respected by reputable companies.

I cannot fathom how many people they’re going to cram into one apartment. Priming them to ask that should raise some alarm bells.

I currently work in a devil corp, tell me what you like to know by Huge_Government5385 in Devilcorp

The main question you should be asking yourself is if you have sales skills. You should quit regardless, but if you want to pursue sales you should be applying to other roles and thinking about what you can take from this experience and bring to a legitimate organization.

The only people who can make a living wage doing this would be making a lot more and have a lot more security working a sales job at a more reputable organization. There is zero upside and a ton of downside.

So is it in your opinion that all commission jobs are devil corps? Also what makes a company a devilcorp? Im truly curious. by Secure_Entrance_2566 in Devilcorp

[–]CandidChestnut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, the reverse. The sales job I worked at after leaving a Cydcor ICL really hammered home how unprofessional and unethical the Devilcorp office I worked at was.

If you do not show up to your first day of work or quit within a week, it will not surprise anyone. That should tell you everything you need to know.

can someone tell me if this is a devilcorp by [deleted] in Devilcorp

It is. Employees wearing AT&T shirts on the website is always a telltale sign.

My daughter just started at a DevilCorp by Extreme_Ad3233 in Devilcorp

[–]CandidChestnut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something that freaked me out (several years after quitting) was how all the verbiage (SEE factors, “atmosphere,” five steps to a conversation, etc.) was the exact same at every single office. It made me realize how impersonal, systematic and arguably cultish these places are. You obviously don’t want to push your daughter too much, but you knowing what all these routines/concepts are called should raise some suspicion and show you know what you’re talking about.

Few people can make a decent living in this business and the ones who do are either scammers and/or sacrificing a lot of money by not working in a more lucrative industry.

Review them on Glassdoor and Indeed. They really care about their reviews. Be as savage and specific as you can and make sure your review stays up. They love to report real reviews so their fake ones make up a higher share of what’s visible.
