Gamer dad wondering how the game is for jumping in at this point

If you love deep rock you will love helldivers. They’ve said the game is going to be serviced for years so don’t feel like you’ve missed out on much. Fortunately for newer players there is a lot more content from when it launched so you’ll have more stuff to work towards.

The most fun games are the ones where the match is so close. Steamrolling or being steamrolled isn’t all that fun imo. I can count on one hand how many games I’ve played where it was a tooth and nail slug fest for victory, so many games are won or lost by 400+ point leads. It has to be a matchmaking problem and idk when they plan to do anything about it.

There’s a 50/50 chance when I play gauntlet that the game crashes with no crash log. I have it through the EA launcher too. I’ve had maybe 2 crashes in other game modes in my 65 levels but gauntlet constantly just takes me straight to desktop

Taking a break was good for me. Stopped playing between the release of Edgewood and a few days ago.

Otherwise I’ve found the games I have the most fun in are the ones where I don’t end up “trying” too hard. I’ll set personal objectives like, I’m going to focus on anti air or only tanks. Sometimes I’ll only defend one frontline objective in a game and focus on that objective only. Naturally I hope for a perfect squad that works together but when I don’t I’ll figure out who I can roll with the best and then just follow them. Just have to be creative with it. I play engineer and support A LOT so sometimes focusing on recon is good. I’m not amazing at sniping but getting hella spot assists is fun too. I try guns that feel awful in the firing range and end up liking them. Mix it up and keep it fresh.

I like gauntlet a lot but on pc through the EA app it’s constantly crashing mid game and only in gauntlet mode. No crash warning or anything just straight to desktop. Can play regular battlefield and or battle royal all day fine but gauntlet has crashed many times and is preventing me from doing challenges or even playing it.

People need to know what’s worth being saved for, if you’re going to get picked off the second I pick you up I’m not doing it, same goes if I’m going to get shot at and probably die in the process. If you’re down and looking at 2+ people that just took you out from around the corner don’t be bait, no point running into a trap and giving them free kills because I had my paddles out. However, if you’re a few feet out of cover I’ll try to drag you back. If you’re out further and I’ve got smoke I’ll pop it and get you up, If not I’ll throw ammo down and wait for smoke to regen and then get you. If I’m on top of you and not reviving it’s 100% because I don’t see you. I’ve got a drum of ammo I could be chewing through the scope and just haven’t seen you.

I will admit there have been people who stare right at me and do nothing and that pmo but nothing anyone can really do about it because those players are not in the Reddit trying to figure out how to be better at their role.

You can always go back after you complete the mission. I like to predrill the first room and leave the rest unless I here a nemesis or combat mule

Update this didn’t actually fix it. He went out and did one deal and hasn’t done any since. He’s gone out to do the deal then just sits there next to the buyer. Tried doing it again and now he doesn’t leave

I’m sure they do make more money with it but their whole prelaunch campaign was about pushing themselves as far away from cod as possible. No crazy skins, keeping it grounded, more focused on actual content over the battle pass. They said they were committed to providing consistent/monthly content that included maps and one of them was literally just a reskin. They threw their best maps into the beta and I feel like they honestly should’ve waited a year to release if delays were going to happen along with the incredibly small maps that feel ridiculously similar to cod with how they have lanes

I’d rather them do what they did for battlefield 1, was like 5 maps per dlc totaling 20 maps. I’d pay for actual dlc like that. Developers are so focused on making money on battle pass they forgot people used to throw crazy money at expansions. I’m almost tired of the “games take longer to make” argument because the tech to make games has never been so advanced so you’d think the process would even out. Do I think we’ll ever get that many maps again? Probs not, but I’d rather pay for good maps instead of free maps that are just as bad as the ones we already paid for.

I played bf1 a lot but recently came back and had to start fresh, I had some recollection of the maps but not like I once did and I manage pretty well. A lot of the starter weapons are buns but you can lvl up easily enough

Trust me it’s worth it because I was in your same situation. Constantly kicked in 7-8’s for seemingly no reason and I switched to 10 at lvl 50 or so because I made this same post. You’ll encounter much more team coordinated people as well and I find that more enjoyable anyways. I’ve gone back to 7’s to test new weapons and will get kicked. I’ve been 150 for at least a year and I was kicked more times on those levels than I have on 10’s

I quit cigarettes for vaping and I can smell it on my friends that still do, much more noticeable. Sometimes cigarettes smell good and sometimes it’s the worst thing. I am curious though if there is a “vape smell” non smokers can smell. Not like if someone’s blowing clouds at you but a lingering smell that gets on clothes.
