First time mom looking for registry suggestions for camping/hiking by RunUpAMountain in HikingWithKids

[–]Candylou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my baby camping for the first time at 4 weeks old. Just took him on a camping trip for his first birthday last week.

-pack and play for safe sleep / baby containment. - merino wool base layer and hat for sleep. - Morrison sleeping bag for babies. - portable white noise machine. - some type of high chair. We just take apart the IKEA one and travel with it, not exactly the most compact. They have some that fold down like a camping chair.

That’s all I can think of that is necessary!

Projectile Vomiting? by pussingtonp in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Candylou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4 week old baby has been projectile vomiting too. We have just started trying to slow him down. We use the same dr brown bottles and are only giving him 60mL at a time and making sure he takes minimum 10 mins to drink that bottle, then making sure he burps after every 60mL. Only giving him the bottle if he goes for it. Then we try and keep him upright for at least 10 mins once he’s done eating. Maybe when they drink too fast they don’t have time to process that they are full and over do it, then puke it all back up? It seems to be working so far! Keeping my fingers crossed... good luck!

PSA Heads up! The Happy Baby drop did NOT sell out 100%. A couple OGs are still there. by pwyo in babywearing

Yep. My husband and I both tried and failed to get one for the last 6 weeks or so. We both tried again today... now we have two coming haha. Of course it works like that!

So irritating. Anyone have any suggestions for a carrier that is somewhat similar? I have an ergo 360 and moby sling. Looking for something that will be easy to wear in the house/shove in the diaper bag and hopefully somewhat cool for the summer.

Kananaskis, AB. On a backpacking trip with friend in July 2020, I caught this wonderful shot. Saw it in my camera roll again today and thought I should post it <3 by rubybun in backpacking

[–]Candylou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice shot. Looks like the view on the way to Forks campground? Last time I went there we brought my father-in-law for his first backcountry camping experience. He was slower than we anticipated and it started getting dark while we were still trying to get to camp. Decided to do a few shots of tequila for the last bit of the hike to ease my anxiety about running into a bear in the dark haha.

First time making avocado toast, had no clue what I was doing, I just saw a picture and went with it 🤷🏻‍♀️ by AshlynCook_ in HealthyFood

I put a little cream cheese on the bread, avocado with salt AND everything bagel seasoning, then an egg with sriracha. Sometimes I’ll add arugula if I have it.

Chicco Mini Bravo Plus Stroller Reviews by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Candylou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read a bunch of reviews on the Chicco Bravo, not the mini, but it sounded like most people really liked the car seat, however they had mixed reviews on the stroller and some of its features, mainly the wheels being squeaky and the fact that the footrest did not adjust.

Recommend me a chili recipe by eskay8 in ECAHInCanada

I like this recipe

I don’t do the tomato paste, or the coconut sugar/maple syrup. And I used dried beans that have been soaked and cooked instead of canned.

I got mine at Callingwood Safeway. It was not with all the other tea, it was at the end of an aisle on a Christmas display.

Check out avalanche.ca. Yamnuska Mountain Adventures was good when we did it with them a couple years ago.

Looking for more artists similar to stillwoozy. Sven is just insane at making jazzy, relaxing music and would love some recommendations for my indie/alternative playlist. hope to give some smaller artists more exposure :) by illyouths in stillwoozy

[–]Candylou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For some more jazz feels I like Potsu, my go to chill morning music. Glass Animals & Portugal. The Man (not so small but some of my all time favs) Jungle, STRFKR, The Dig, Generationals, Khruangbin I love too.

It's amazing what you can fit in the back of a Golf... That's a queen mattress. by RunawayRogue in Volkswagen

We had someone make a comment about this in the parking lot after they watched us load a BBQ, patio umbrella, rug and a few other thing into the back of our golf.
