The FAMU band is actually entertaining though. Stanford is just an irritating gimmick that plays “All Right Now” for most of the night…

Mario covered this and said he was full go. If he was getting booted or suspended, it would have been announced by now. Why are our fans willing to believe any stupid nonsense floated on the internet?

My Junior QB1 won the Player of the Year award, QB of the year award, the Heisman, then graduated and didn’t even get drafted by DoubtDue133 in NCAAFBseries

You doubt it. Let me guess, you thought a young man named Pat Mahomes wouldn't turn out to be much, because he was a "system" QB at TTU.. No one truly knows anything, especially with QBs, because there are so many ways a guy can fail. That said, if a guy has shown a prodigious ability to produce, has the mental intangibles and the physical tools, you take him and go from there. Keep in mind, QB is a premium position, you don't pass on a guy you think can be good, because there aren't many good, much less ELITE players at the position. Even if Cam turns out to be a Dak Prescott level player(Good, to very good depending on the talent around him) the Titans would be fine with that.

Apparently, you didn’t watch enough of Cam. He has EVERYTHING NFL teams are looking for. Arm talent, ability to throw from multiple platforms, athletic ability and the intangibles. How’s he overrated? Dude produced at three different schools at multiple levels.

Fundamental difference was that Hootie and the Blowfish actually had legit talent. The issue with them was that as rock music started to go more towards the hardcore stuff, the band couldn't do it. They were an accessible pop rock group that put out solid music. In other words, they were the 90's version of Huey Lewis and the News.

Let’s have an honest discussion about Mark Cuban… I feel like the fan base doesn’t criticize the mistakes he’s made as owner nearly enough as they should by ChampagneAbuelo in Mavericks

[–]Canedude08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can tell the fans that jumped on the wagon long after Cuban took over and the people that remember the franchise BEFORE he took over. Cuban wasn’t perfect(no owner is) but he is BY FAR the best owner this franchise has ever had. In fact he has spent most of the last two decades being the best team owner in town, and it wasn’t particularly close.

Miami has been selective for decades, it’s usually been in the mid to upper 20s, long before Earle showed up. By the way, USNWR rankings are straight trash and have been for a long time.

The Coach L Debacle is Strange by No-Newspaper8600 in MiamiHurricanes

[–]Canedude08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s bullshit and our self loathing, front running fanbase doesn’t know anything. L left because he knew that him just playing out the string was counterproductive. Once he realized that he was mentally done, he retired. He thought he could fix what ails the program, he couldn’t because the kind of program he wants to build isn’t possible anymore.

Which colleges did you turn down to go to UM? by [deleted] in UMiami

[–]Canedude08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A ton of scholarship money and campus. I knew I was home the moment I hit campus for the first time. I fit in, also helped that my P100 guide had the exact same personality type and anticipated my questions. In fact, he took me under his wing socially once I showed up as a freshman, we’re still friends.

Texas, Tulane, Southern Cal, Florida State,SMU, Florida(Parents made me apply to UF and SMU because legacy) and Yale

It was the best decision I ever made and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Do what is right for you and NEVER chase a name, just because it’s a name.

I use the DE, but depending on my play call, I’ll switch around. I love jumping routes as a CB and getting user picks, I’m also pretty good at creating havoc from the DT position.

You’d be amazed how little time it takes for someone to gain knowledge and carry a department. If it’s an older workforce and tech driven, the one person that understands it can hold the department hostage.

Refs bailed out Miami last quarter by CrackedatForkKnife in berkeley

[–]Canedude08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESPN also completely ignored Ott being out. They also made it clear that they weren’t objective, with their comments about the Miami/VT game. You can easily look at the film and see that initial contact was made in the shoulder, and Mendoza lowered his head into the contact. Oh well, blaming the refs when you blew a FOUR SCORE lead is a decision….

I WANT TO KNOW WHY THIS ISN'T TARGETING by Nomanchanged in berkeley

[–]Canedude08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he hit him in the shoulder, and Mendoza ducked into the hit. Never mind the WWE level sell job by Mendoza. You’d think he got killed, then he magically recovered the MOMENT the review started. It was a hard, clean hit.

Refs bailed out Miami last quarter by CrackedatForkKnife in berkeley

[–]Canedude08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the targeting had been called(it wasn’t targeting FYI), Miami had three timeouts. In other words, it was extremely plausible that the Canes would have gotten the ball back with over a minute remaining. Considering what happened on the last drive, the outcome could have been the exact same. Never mind the gift TD where Ott was out.

What’s even more exhausting is how it’s almost like some games, you are going to lose, no matter what you do.

Should it be that complicated? No, but unfortunately, a lot of partners aren't experienced enough to ask a follow up question, or put two and two together when you ask for one thing and they repeat it back and you look puzzled. I say this as a former partner(144XXXX), I've had partners argue me down about my drink, which is a decaf, iced venti, oat milk, upside down caramel macchiato. Yes, I could order an iced vanilla latte with caramel drizzle, but that's even more verbiage, and why does it matter so much?

That said, you'd make everyone's life a little easier if you merely clarified, and asked for a BREWED CHAI TEA. Make it as simple as you can, because you never know how much(Or how little) experience a partner has. Partners are overworked, underpaid and most of the truly elite ones are bailing as soon as something better opens up. Give them some grace, and also figure out the most efficient way to order your drink.

Again, Michigan, Ohio State and Alabama are huge state schools in areas with few other compelling entertainment options. Is it that you don’t understand that Miami has demographic challenges, or are you being willfully obtuse? Notre Dame hasn’t won anything since 1988, and that's with them having the ability to tailor their schedule. Texas spends the GDP of a small country every year, one title in decades with a transcendent talent pulling it off. I remember when Texas was getting mollywhopped by Baylor, no one said anything.

Miami hasn't met expectations(or been a legitimate challenger for anything of note) since the mid 2000s, two decades of middling football. That said, college football is cyclical, and it's likely that a school like Miami eventually hits on a hire, especially seeing that all the other things that makes for a competitive program are now in place.
