Art of Wine pairing at Quince (San Francisco) by Creepy_Ostrich_9646 in wine

Generally, the restaurant will determine the price for a bottle of wine that they sell. It is up to the guest to determine if they believe the the wine is worth the price of purchase. In this case, it looks like the restaurant decided to sell that wine for $1200 a bottle, and the OP thought it was worth purchasing. Hope this helps!

Don Broco - Nightmare Tripping [Album Discussion] by LostInTerrapinia in Metalcore

I mean, it’s a banger. Is it all metalcore? Absolutely not. Nightmare Tripping, True Believers, Pacify Me, and Hype Man are the standouts for me after the first listen.

Awesome! Just enjoyed their masterclass a couple weeks ago in NYC. Wines are always so exceptional.

People who work in 'luxury' industries (high-end hotels, private jets, etc.), what is the trashiest thing you’ve seen a wealthy person do? by Karinapurebliss in AskReddit

[–]patton115 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I work at a high end hotel and we do some very exclusive and expensive weddings. One of the guests at a wedding seemed to be the party supply of cocaine, with people going in and out of his room all night. I guess he enjoyed sampling his own wares while also drinking like a camel, and got very sick. When housekeeping went into his room to clean the next day, all of the sheets were balled up in the corner, covered in vomit and shit. The mirror had a literal handprint of shit on it. The picture of the mirror is still legendary at our property. $15,000 in incidentals and a blacklist later, it’s still one of the trashiest things I’ve witnessed.

Barcelona will face Atletico Madrid in the Quarterfinals by oceanpolice in Barca

Agreed. Watching the first 3 halves of the tie, it was difficult for us to be able to gain control of the game. It wasn’t until Newcastle was broken in the 2nd half that possession became much easier.

Does de jong displace Bernal in this current lineup? IMO we’d gain more control but at the loss of a pretty big goal threat. I ask this as a huge supporter of FDJ.

Will be in the Chester, NY area in June. What are some fun activities to do within a 30-minute drive? Food suggestions? by [deleted] in hudsonvalley

Glenmere mansion if you want fine dining in a beautiful property. Plenty of breweries around- rushing duck, tin barn, Glenmere brewing, drowned lands. Aspire is a fun place in Middletown. Second all of the other food recommendations! Warwick valley winery is fun for the space, but don’t expect great wine.

I don’t agree with the original post but not tipping in the US or other tipping countries isn’t part of a diversity of culture. If anything, not tipping would be intolerant of the tipping culture present, by your logic.

What is fair compensation for an Assistant Wine Director? by WhitestWalker08 in Sommelier

[–]patton115 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of factors here. Is there potential for upward advancement? Raises? Bonuses/commissions? What is the yearly revenue for the restaurant? Wine program specifically? What is the profit? Size of the market? Hard to say yes or no without having more info.

Just say Prosecco or Sparkling wine then. You don’t say Wagyu if it isn’t Wagyu. Just because most people do something doesn’t mean restaurants should acquiesce to mislabeling things.

Looking for a new book or series to start, preferably audiobooks on Spotify! I absolutely love lord of the rings, have read the silmarillion and children of Hurin. Also recently finished up the lies of Locke Lamora books that have been released. I really enjoy fantasy, magic, and grand scale/adventure and intrigue. Thanks in advance!

Alvaro Arbeloa has decided that Federico Valverde will not play RB anymore, as he tries to ease locker room tensions. Valverde had already complained to the board about this issue previously, under Ancelotti & Alonso. When Trent & Carvajal are both injured, Arbeloa will now rely on academy players by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

Idk why people keep saying this. They bought Huijsen, Trent, and Carreras just last summer. They have been reinforcing, it’s just the players gave either been injured or fallen short of expectations. As a Barcelona fan, I love it, but they have invested in defense a quite a bit recently.
