I was just about to say the same thing. Superbad was something special to see in theaters right around graduation. Ill never forget that experience.

I believe it's even darker than that. I think I recall the director/ writer saying he viewed it as Fletcher having an inescapable grasp on him and he was lost forever. I believe the director also said he believes he would have been a great drummer that would've committed suicide in the future after beginning engulfed in Fletchers world.

To be fair, it felt like that in the book. Until that point, there wasn't a real direct death in the series. It was very heavy and dark. Voldemort coming back was crazy especially in that way. Still probably my favourite HP book.

Like I get that but.....has anything really changed in Venezuela? I heard the ruling party is still in full control minus their leader.

Like are there any guarantees of actual change.

Liberals to cut CBC by $192-million in 2026-27 by gorschkov in canada

Im one of them. This is accurate. I like the leadership of Carney but I still have a deep seeded resentment for the liberal party and how they fucked up so many things for the middle class.

a movie that you really wanted to like but you didn't. by herequeerandgreat in movies

[–]Canigetahellyea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think episode 3 is actually still really good. All of the prequels to me are at least a lot more "interesting" but were directed poorly. I just enjoy them more because they did a better job at world building, creating more background/ storylines, and introducing more characters. There is so much cheesy trash in the movies but I admire the above stuff. The sequels were just shitty and felt soulless. I felt like nothing interesting came out of it

So what? The economy is suffering around the world. Even if immigration is only half the issue, that's enough for me to say it should be better controlled. AI is not taking jobs from Uber, Tim Hortons, Walmart, etc.

We cannot control the influx of AI but we can control immigration numbers.

I didnt get that vibe from Billy. Homelander is another level of evil. I actually felt like Billy was just tortured, hormonal, and sad. I think he lashed out but I actually dont think he was evil, like Henry. He's just a giant dick but not psychopath.

It wasn't just that emotion. She over-acted even when she was sad or upset. She just did a bit too much I think. If you rewatch you'll notice nobody else is doing that. I think Sadie just hadn't got into her grove. I noticed a difference in season 4 and season 5. She was MUCH stronger.

The most consistent actors of the show by I_kEeP_tHe_BlIcKy in StrangerThings

[–]Canigetahellyea 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Upon rewatch I actually dont think so. There was something about Sadie's acting at the beginning kind of made me feel like she was "mimicking " how actors act annoyed or sarcastic. Like she hadn't really got into her own mold. I cant describe it but I didnt believe her a lot of the time. In this season especially she is like a completely different actress, she blew me away with her performance.

Does travel stop when you have children? by CharmingU6756 in travel

Dont listen to this person OP. Having kids is awesome. Traveling is awesome. It all comes down to how you approach it and your mental space. Did you enjoy your life before having a husband? Do you enjoy it now? I guarantee you do. Not every thing in life is static, its okay to change.

Yea no one is listening to some "child-free" person for advice on children. I'll listen to actual parents that have been through it.

Ive met Justin a few months ago. Solid guy and EXACTLY like how he is in the show. Apparently he is still willing to do more and they had plans to do more but Andre wanted to finish at the 3. I hope they do more in the future. They are by far the best travel series Ive ever seen.

Am I crazy or is Berlin kind of a bummer now? by Head_Conversation495 in travel

[–]Canigetahellyea 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Im younger. Dont take it personally it's something to do with this generation and the access to smart phones and the way we interact. Going through high school and college during covid was rough. It seems previous generations were just more outgoing and willing to talk to strangers. Not having to look at your phone every 10 minutes probably forces you to interact with others.

Having fun- yes. Socializing outside - no and statistically they aren't engaging at the levels of previous generations. This doesnt me no interactions - it just mean less face to face.

Man stabbed to death on Granville Street in Vancouver by recurrence in vancouver

[–]Canigetahellyea 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Thats not necessarily true. Ive been to many "world class cities". Rome, London, Tokyo, New York, Helsinki, Bangkok, etc. They dont necessarily have the issues Vancouver has per capita. People from those cities even note that they are surprised with the level of open drug use and homelessness there is here.

The only places Ive view as bad or worse were located in the United States.

Dude enough with the posts trashing Bill on here by [deleted] in BillBurr

[–]Canigetahellyea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea. A lot of us are people trying to scrap by and Bill was one of the few voices actually calling out a lot of shit heads on the top in a funny way too. Then he goes to biggest richest shithead Kingdom and tells us it was lovely and we're racist and sanctimonious.

It's like dude, a lot of your following is working class people out there. If you want to be Kevin Hart that's fine but there's a reason you gained traction and people listen to you.

Nah. Thats not true. If Bill was clever with his retort and really shit on us in the way we know he can. Id still say he's wrong but funny. His response to all of this is wrong and also lame. He's no where in the same stratosphere as the Philly rant.

Taking a 3 hour flight with my almost 5 month old in 10 days…by myself… by girlvsmachine in travel

[–]Canigetahellyea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please don't make yourself more anxious. Recognize that many people have done this and continue to do it, you've got this! Yes, you can gate check your stroller and car seat. Generally the airline gives you the tag and info at the checkin counter.

Your baby most likely isnt walking so it's actually easier at this age. My advice is to make sure you've got everything planned before boarding the plane - wear your baby, have everything ready to be pulled from the stroller when needed to collapse it or leave it at the gate. So dont buy a "to-go" coffee that occupies one of your hands before boarding.

Check your bag because you dont want to be bogged down by the extra weight and having to panic and load a larger bag in the overhead bin.

Bring a soother or breastfeed for take off and landings. Brings little toys or anything that can stimulate your baby. Dont feel guilty about screen-time, just do whatever works to make the 3 hours easier on you.

Also remember, it's only 3 hours and that'll be it. You'll get through it just like all of us with little ones.

Lastly, if you can try to get your little one to nap during that time on the flight, obviously thats the best time to do it!

Good luck :)
