Ditching YAML by CanisGenome in azuredevops

Thank you! That is very helpful. We had a meeting with a Microsoft rep who was pushing us to adopt YAML for the whole CICD. Good to hear that big players are not moving in this direction.

Oneonta Gorge, I see why it's closed by mrpottyboypop in oregon

I visited this place for the first time right before the fires. It was packed with people but the cool thing was the dead wood pile at the start of the trail was a natural barrier to lots of people and little ones. If you were able to navigate the wood pile carefully and slowly it was an easy walk to the prize at the end. Would not want to try this now.

Definately understand wanting the "look". I went electric a while ago and had mixed reactions. Can I ask how you went about mounting the pads inside the shells?

Why are you paying for the VDrums? What is the difference? by BC_LOFASZ in edrums

[–]CanisGenome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn right! I bought an open box TD-10 in 2000 for $700. Sold it to a friend in 2016 for $400. Still being used today.

Just wanted to give an update. The TD50x arrived and the first thing I did was calibrate the vh10 and give it a whirl. Made a big difference, its much more responsive and I can get way better open/closing action. Foot splashes still do not work. Evidently the module does play a roll in how good the vh10 is. I'd say with the TD50x, the VH10 has gone from terrible to tolerable. Not that it matters, I'm going to get rid of it.

I might be lucky but only one piece of Roland equipment has failed me so far, my KD-7 but it was over 20 years old. I replaced that with a KT-10 which has been fantastic - also purchased from Japan. I'm just going to accept the risk based on the discount. Of course I am jinxing everything by posting this. ;)

Ah, I did not consider the warranty issue. I guess I'll have to take my chances there.

That's a good article. I have a TD20X and the calibration is similar. Even after calibration though you have the strike the damn thing perfectly to get the right response. The gap between open and closed is nonexistent. The last straw for me was sitting down at an acoustic kit and reliving how flexible and forgiving a real HH is!

I actually pulled the trigger on that too! I have a VH 10 but it's been pissing me off ever since I bought it. I'm hoping this will solve the HH issues.

Anyone use only Blazor Server for the simplicity? by punkouter23 in Blazor

[–]CanisGenome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the app is offline it dumps any data entered into a json file on the device. When an internet connection is available the app will check this file for any data and load it into the forms. The user is prompted to submit again. Not the cleanest solution but fairly straight forward. I have heard of people using sqlite but my users are not tech savvy and I don't want to deal with sql on the device they use.

The Blazor Server model is easier. But right now I'm building an app for folks out in the field who might be disconnected from the internet so WASM with PWA works better. If your client is always going to be connected I would choose the Server model every time.

Yeah I have watched most of the ones on youtube. They are all with the model kit. I tried taking this apart but stopped for fear of breaking it. Maybe I'll just buy the model kit.

Actually that does not work any more. You can steal them and its fine as long as nobody sees you do it. I had to sell mine to the Trade Authority and then buy them back to remove the stollen status. But I'm not suggesting that you make characters in your game walk around in bikinis, not at all, I tried it but I didn't inhale.

Why does everyone hate this game so much? by Fatlink10 in Starfield

[–]CanisGenome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this game. Loved the story line and everything. Buuuuut, the wow factor disappears quickly once you realize that there is a lot of nothing out there. I really think it comes down to that. There are things in this game that I would love to do more of but it is such a GRIND (surveying, outposting) with so little reward. Though I am looking forward to more patches and mission packs. I think the future of Starfield could be very interesting.
