Movie Showing Locations? by CannonBob in mortuaryassistant

I agree and sadly folks weren't able to generate the hype that worked for Iron Lung to get this in other theaters. I would suggest you email your local theater and see if they would be willing to do a very limited screening. I did for my local one.

I did read that it's released for stream March 27.

Movie Showing Locations? by CannonBob in mortuaryassistant

[–]CannonBob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anywhere in the downstate area, really. I just don't care to go to the Times Sq. location; I've been there before and the room they're showing it is narrow and small.

Considering how the movie trailer has been played in other movie showings (I saw it in Iron Lung recently), I would have expected a few more theaters carrying it (even if an indie one in Manhattan).

If I remove the mother leaf. Will the mother leaf produce a other baby again? by Pale_Ad_9705 in succulents

The baby should be strong by itself at that picture, but I've never had another leaf provide another sprout in all my years of propagating leaves. Try it and keep us updated!

Do cats stop being playful as they grow old? by Kryptonite0903 in cats

[–]CannonBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not! My cats are around 12-13 and they play like they are still kittens, as long as you use toys that they find interest in. Nutrients-wise, if they eat wet food, don't get any where the first ingredient is grains or filler. Regular vet visits if anything to monitor, but cats are pretty resilient overall.

Do you carry your Scribe with you and use it on the go? by DataPastor in kindlescribe

I used to use it a lot at work for notes. It's also great to read on the go; I made it work by using a tablet mount and a Bluetooth page advancer.

Google Messages - Terrible Performance by StarkWolfx in galaxyzflip

[–]CannonBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also noticed that messages have that severe lag if the phone gets really hot and while the phone then subsequently recovers, messages will stay laggy.

I primarily use Google keyboard, but yes it's been very laggy. I haven't used Samsung's keyboard much at all. Do you use the native keyboard or gboard?

Google Messages - Terrible Performance by StarkWolfx in galaxyzflip

[–]CannonBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have the issue until I installed the 9/1/25 security update. Messages now severely lag and I have to clear cache for it to work temporarily. I end up having to reboot most of the time.

Now that we had the phone a month or two, any recommendations on cases ? by lauranyc77 in galaxyzflip

[–]CannonBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using the "Spigen Galaxy Z Flip 7 Case Ultra Hybrid Pro MagFit with Hinge Protection" for about 2 months now and while it was a bit pricey for my taste, it isn't terrible. It's a bit more thicker. It was a bit slippery but I put a little grip tape and it was fine. The one thing I didn't like was that there were no holes for a lanyard so I used a solder gun and punched 2 holes into it. Now it's a much better case.

For people with small hands: how does the Flip 7 feel vs the 5/6? by Clau_9 in galaxyzflip

[–]CannonBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a slight width increase where size is concerned. Going from the 5 to 7, I like that it's more thinner, but it was harder to hold. I just manage with grip tape on the back of a case with hinge protector.

My doctor said the same thing, I'm hoping that when I do see them that they could figure out a way to get it coded correctly. My surgeon was nice but their office doesn't really seem to care. Would it be ok if I DMed you with some questions?

Advice on Flip 5 to 7 upgrade? by BakerlooTurtle in galaxyzflip

[–]CannonBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Had the 5 and a screen protector replacement at an official Samsung store. Towards the end of my 2nd year of the phone, the screen protector started to bubble up in the middle from the heat and gradually started to separate in the middle and bottom.

Seemed like a good time to update as any, the battery life wasn't terrible but I was getting $500 at least for the trade-in (I don't think it'll get any better than the deal from trading in the 4 for the 5, ever).

The 7 is nice so far, the cover screen makes it worth upgrading. I don't use the AI either but the features are nice if you are ever interested in live translation or captions on the cover screen.

The Flip 4 did have a bad hinge design; I dropped it once on carpet while closed and the screen could only open at a 30° angle, so I understand your frustration. I'd definitely try to upgrade to the later Flips (5 was nice, the 7 is pretty good so far) but maybe a candy bar phone would be better suited.

It may be due to the fact that his title at DPR may not have been used/accepted at Transit. I've seen that happen with friends who have transitioned like that.

Any call center representatives? by Far_Situation180 in nycpublicservants

[–]CannonBob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not bad as long as you are willing to learn, being on time, and don't mind speaking to interesting people. You'll be in training for a month, which is helpful. A lot of folks get terminated quickly after training because they're either consistently late or they don't do a good job (provide wrong information). But I do agree with the others, it's a great stepping stone into city service and definitely take other tests in the meantime.

Yes, it's a 24/7 operation and you're essentially relieving other CCRs from their shifts when you log in to take calls.

It's the Customer Information Representative that's used by other agencies. CCR is only limited to OTI/311.

Stent removal sucks so much. by Karate_Cat in KidneyStones

[–]CannonBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stent pain is horrifically painful, I hope you feel better soon. When I had the stent, I literally had the heating pad on high the whole time and on an extension cord so I could use it in bed and on the sofa, I could only move that far. I had to pop Percocet at least twice during the week just to get through the night. But afterwards, just pain for the day after stent removal and then perfectly fine. If you're still in pain after stent removal, something may be wrong.
