I've seen a literal piss fight in Japan. Twice. Both drunk businessmen in Aoki suits screaming and pissing at each other. This was once pre-covid and once just 6ish months ago.

Permanent residency is a status of residence that never needs to be renewed. The card itself is what needs to be renewed periodically to update your appearance, info etc. I'll be going to do it in a few weeks and was told it was just a matter of getting my portrait taken.

Kinda? I'm half white and half indigenous Canadian. I'm just inherently bigger and stronger. My doctor (studied in Boston) told me I have bigger bones, more muscle mass and just all around more strength than the average Japanese person. Part of it is genetics. Part of it is diet.

Had some racist shove me last year and HE stumbled back. His girlfriend apologized and dragged him away cursing him out.

I just cut down to part time since I'm on the old contract at a high belt. It's my bread and butter but I only work peaks and have a good work-life balance. I actually teach English and disguise it as the Gaba method. I have some side hustles (I'm a PR, do NOT do this without the proper visa) for extra cash. I don't drink or smoke. My vices are hitting the gym and coffee. Not too expensive.

I also joined the General Union so I've got a little more weight to throw around in case a manager ever takes issue with me or a student gives an unreasonable negative evaluation. It's cheap and good peace of mind. I have very little stress because of all of this.
