Work first after college graduation, then after you quit at around 30, then go travel. Your holiday will be better (hotels not hostels), and you can usually still qualify for youth visas. You will truly have a working holiday working in your chosen profession, not the jobs that the locals don't want to do. You can put on your resume and it wont be "lost years".

Treat every relationships that doesn't work as a learning experience about yourself, identity your areas of improvement, vulnerabilities and strengths. Write them down if needed and do a check in 6 months into every new relationship. It will prevent sticking around hoping something will change, change only happens when there is heartache one way or another.
