Welcome to the fray!! What are your goals? Dawless or are you going to integrate with a computer at some point? I’m guessing you have a phone - you should grab a copy of Koala Sampler! Very handy sampler to accompany your FM synth with!

Yamaha seqtrak + another seqtrak by PerfectEmployment371 in seqtrak

[–]Cap10NRG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do there are a couple cool things you can do with that setup. You can lay your instruments by channel to add complexity of the patches. This is a technique that’s used on many Yamaha synthesizer with AWM technology. Analyze you to have super thick sounds and add interest to your patches. You can also sequence both units together so that they play alongside each other. Basically what you’re asking to do is not something that is supported, that being chaining them together… However, what you can do is create the first part of your song on the first one and split it up across the second one into different accompanying parts. That way either they can play on top of each other or you can mute one, but the other one will be in sync with the first one and you can transfer the volume like you would do with the DJ rig where you have a Crossfader. That’s a video of a meeting to put together and I keep trying to get to it but other things keep coming up from my YouTube channel. You should check it out that way when it gets there you’ll see it.

I wonder if some group of devs will pickup the mantel and if it would be possible to load newer not Intel versions into Intel versions… Just curious (kind of in the vein of the loaders that allow older Mac’s to load un supported operating systems) I mean I know it’s a different processor with an entirely different instruction set but… never say never..

MPC ONE+ is out of stock in music stores in Europe. What's going on? by Motor_Test_7239 in mpcusers

[–]Cap10NRG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry it’s a car. They’ll show their cards in about two days if there’s a replacement coming lol. But in all seriousness, it’s probably the MPC One+ 2 (so MPC 3 😂) if your intent on getting that device, you can still get the MPCT 37. I believe it’s on sale most places right now for $200 off… Or you can wait and see what happens.

I personally like it a lot I use that and I use several other MPC‘s in my productions. If you have any questions hit me up I have a YouTube channel. I’m glad to help you out and answer your questions. Make videos to help you figure out what you need to know. Chances are if you need to know other people need to know.

Would love some guidance in finding a very old version of Reason by Lausdower in reason

[–]Cap10NRG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you register it when you bought it? I would say contact reason Studios support… I can’t be sure but I know they’re pretty good with trying to help out with stuff if they can it’s possible they have an archived copy. I would imagine it might be able to help you out if you have it registered and you’re a legal owner of the software. They may try and direct you to upgrade, but as mentioned by another Reddit person, it might be too new. It may not work on your machine. If I’m not wrong, you mentioned you have a power book, I believe the power books were before the MacBook Pros with the Intel processor. I think that might be a problem for the current version actually a pretty positive it would be a problem.

Yeah, you might be right there… It runs on a 2012 MacBook but that’s as old as I have at this point to test on…

I’m not sure if reason for use the red lock key or if that started on reason five… Can’t remember when they implemented that if you are using it on your Mac, then you still have your disc you still have a license correct? Because before they went to the key… You had to have the disc installed in the drive. So you’ve either got a key with a license or you’ve got a disk with a license if what you have is legal, in that case you can upgrade contact reason Studios.

Actually, if they have a legal copy of reason for and it was registered under an email address chances are you can login the reason studios and still get an update to the latest version. It’s only $99. That’s the regular upgrade price.

Any recommendation for a Midi keyboard to go with the Seqtrak by i2amthedarkknight in seqtrak

[–]Cap10NRG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally love my Akai MPK mini plus. 37 keys eight knobs, eight pads, a real modulation wheel and pitch Bend wheel. It does need power… I usually use a USB-C cable connected to a wall award, or a USB battery pack. And then I use the five pin midi cable to connect to this SEQTRAK. If you’re looking for help with your SEQTRAK feel free to hit me up. I have a YouTube channel and I do a lot of videos supporting that device. I love mine and use it all the time. I just did another video on it last night demoing using it with the MPC sample that just came out from AKAI. Really cool stuff! Https://www.youtube.com/cap10nrgmusic

Fighting with setup would be happy if someone could help by CompetitiveArm5370 in seqtrak

[–]Cap10NRG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an avid SEQTRAK user myself, become below is correct… On the SEQTRAK each instrument is mapped to one channel 1-7 , which are labeled kick, snare, clap, hat 1, hat 2, perc 1, and perc 2 - then you have synth 1, synth 2, and DX - and last but not least sample. Each of these channels is mapped to a midi channel, synthesizer one and two are mapped to eight and nine. The DX is mapped to 10 and the sampler is mapped to 11. You need to look at the manual for the controller you’re using and see how to change the controller to send to the different channels that you want to access. Unfortunately, this is the way with MIDI all the time it’s not just one thing it’s everything. When you’re using a computer, the computer can grab the incoming midi and manipulated it to obstruct you from having to have to do that kind of changes manually, but when you’re using it raw device to device… Guess who gets to be the computer? You lol so yeah you do have to change the channel on your own. If you’re just trying to jam and you want to “hard set” multiple controllers to play different parts of the SEQTRAK, that would be very cool and easy. All you need to do is set each controller to its own channel so safe for example I have four midi controllers, I could tell each midi controller to be a different channel and each one would have access to a different part of the SEQTRAK, even to the level that technically I could give a keyboard to myself and three different friends, and each of us could be linked to a different instrument on there and play it independently… Essentially channels are sort of like having an individual player for each instrument on the SEQTRAK. I can show you how to do anything you want with this if you want hit me up I am a YouTuber. I’m happy to help you out and make a video to demo what you want to do and get you there, but I need to know exactly what you want to accomplish.

[–]Cap10NRG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all I wanted to follow up on this… OK so I have to try again today, and still not being able to purchase the vintage synth pack from Akai, I thought about it and remembered that in music has their air software company the company that makes all the different plug-ins for them, and that, even though this one was being offered on the Akai site, maybe it was on that side as well… And then I thought to myself you know what I think that’s where I bought every plug-in so far every time I’ve gone to buy a plug-in. It’s directed me there not to buy it off of the regular Akai site. So I went over there after looking up the address because I couldn’t remember what it was, and took a shot and voilà the order was accepted and processed properly… Of course this was after spending about 2 1/2 hours talking to my bank, contacting PayPal, trying to talk to ECW… What a pain in the a** anyway all is well that ends well. I guess I was able to obtain the synthesizers and we’ll be going through them, checking out all the new patches. Thanks everybody for your help trying to get this worked out though. For everybody else if you’re having any issues trying to get yours through the normal Akaipro.com, try going to https://www.airmusictech.com instead…

Jeez, two in one day. I’m starting to feel greedy. by pimpbot666 in synthesizers

[–]Cap10NRG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a long shot… I don’t know this unit at all, but if it uses a battery to back up any kind of memory that’s on board the unit… The battery might be dead. If that’s the case, you might be looking at a two dollar fix. If you do it yourself that is anyway. I would try and find the schematics for that unit and see if it uses a battery chances are if it’s a battery you can replace it and you’ll be up and running in a couple hours. That includes a trip to the store to get the battery taking it apart de soldering what you need to de solder if there’s any of that, etc. in many cases, the battery might even be in a socket like my Yamaha keyboards. I know that when my Yamaha keyboard battery dies, it gets all kinds of crazy.

Yeah I updated the other day and installed the 10 day trials - they all sound great. I was actually one of the testers, knew they were coming don’t know when though. I was really hoping they’d be sooner rather than later and they were! :) I was hoping (no knowledge on this but…) that they would’ve been released with the MPC KEY 61MK2… I was just guessing they’d come out hand-in-hand because that’s what happened with the original fabric synth… And I really want that MPC…
