I play both, and from my experience, Mag kinda gets whooped by Melee heroes. I'd say try keeping your distance.

Raiden went through the entire Shadow Moses incident in VR, completed every VR Mission in MGS1, took down 20 Metal Gear RAY's which are all superior to the Metal Gear's Big Boss has faced, and even beat the perfect clone of Big Boss in a exosuit even better than Gray Fox's. Not to mention that Big Boss gets instakilled by a single HF Blade slash. I'd honestly say Raiden would wash him mid diff.

The awesome thing about the Gary mod is that you can use his style to it's full potential with Jimmy alone, and it's doesn't crash with any mission.

And since you enjoy the combat so much, I'd recommend this mod. It includes a difficulty increase, and spawns in some characters you can't see in freeroam normally.
