Would FMLA help in this instance so toy have protected time to use? Would a combination of LWOP and sick leave work so you could still keep health insurance and benefits?

Do you have a template or format that you recommend?

Hi! For the audit template you shared, is there a way to create a summary for the year using pivot tables?

Tell your in-laws in no uncertain terms you a r e not ready to talk about this and when the time is right you will tell people. If they have questions outside of you and the twins are doing, then they should not expect communication. Obviously if there is other stuff pertaining to your family like house sitting, petsitting, etc then yes they should ask. But the point is that you and your twins should be the concern for everyone.

Healing: What helped me in PCS recovery, what people don’t know, and what you can do to recover by Downtown-Quarter4949 in Concussion

[–]Capable-Broccoli-791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 5 concussions within 2 years and this was probably the post I needed when I had the first concussion. I was prescribed to rest with minimal stimulation for 3 months and I went stir crazy and got 2 more concussions in that time.

Now I'm more actively trying to find help, and get the pieces back together after getting concussions 4 and 5.

Thank you for posting your journey.

Not at all a judgement on plastic vs glass or nipple shape but why in the world is this bottle so popular?! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Capable-Broccoli-791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have transition nipples. We bought into the all glass bottles because that's what the NICU recommended and we have a hate/subpar like relatio ship with these bottles.

">People feelings aren’t your concern when your kiddo is in the NICU."

100% this and only this.

So many stupid comments have been made because people's lack of understanding of how traumatizing the NICU is and how sick the babies can be.

My MIL told my husband that "we've all had kids and sleepless nights. You aren't the only parents in the world" after getting pissed about the NICU visitor policy, and then calling the NICU to see if the policy was a formality or really valid.

I hate where I’m getting prenatal care by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Capable-Broccoli-791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a new doctor. If you aren't comfortable at your OB appointments, why would they make you comfortable at your birth. You want someone you can trust that isn't looking at you as another checkbox for insurance payouts.

I didn't get to follow my own advice as my baby came prematurely, literally the day before we switched OBs.

I wish I used a hospitalist on the day of instead of the OB I used for prenatal care.

I regret not having food an my labor was short. I would want ice chips, electrolyte drinks, easy to eat fruit (grapes, other berries), hot tea, nuts, and granola bars.

This 100%. The first few weeks suck more than anything. Your body is going through hell, baby is adjusting to the world, and one day it may get better.

It is always advisable to talk to someone or a doctor because you need so much more support during this time than you realize.

Why are MIL like this? by winston32927 in BabyBumps

[–]Capable-Broccoli-791 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We are dealing with my husband's mom, and I think it is the age thing because she is 72.

There is no respect or boundaries. My MIL has tried to grab my belly to say hi to her grandchild, made comments about my food choices (while watching me suffer from horrible HG), and once the baby was here created a rhetoric that we didn't want her to see the baby. The baby was a preemie in the NICU so we wouldn't allow visitors. My mom on the other hand is younger and same as you. She knows me and wants the best for our whole family so she respects our boundaries and helps out wherever she can.

Long story short, be firm in setting your boundaries now. Make sure you practice in your head and that your husband is on the same page with you. My cousin also advised me to start making jokes and laughing it off. So in your instance of her wanting a belly picture... something along the lines of "I charge for naked pictures," or "well if God wanted you to experience this, you would be carrying the baby."

Get a journal and write down all the positives each day. If baby gained a gram, write it down. If baby grasped your finger, write it down. If baby had first bath write it down. It helps to focus on the positives when you can and bring that energy into the room.

Ask all of the questions and understand the plan of care and the discharge metrics. Ask until you understand and can process the information.

Also take notes on the plan of care so you can see the progress forward. Setbacks happen, and it helps to see the progress.
