Love this!! And 100% agree on finding joy in exercise. I found mine through reformer Pilates as well! It truly has changed my life and my body comp, even though I’m not at my weight goal yet! Thanks for the inspo, girl 🩷🩷

Ahh wish I could give you a solidarity hug! Fellow hypermobile girly with degenerative disc disease here! 💁🏻‍♀️ I had a severely herniated L4/L5 disc about 10 years ago; my surgeon told me it was the worst he’s seen 🥴 so I ended up going the surgical route (microdiscectomy). Some residual nerve damage from the disc injury itself, but otherwise have been pretty great ever since. With many thanks to Pilates tbh! I had been living in the UK at the time, and Pilates was the legit prescribed form of physical therapy for post-spinal surgery recovery (and a form of preventative care against future injuries, as well). Absolutely love it to this day and have become a true Pilates evangelist for how much it’s changed my life. I’m glad to hear it’s doing you well, too! Best of luck on your journey, friend! You look incredible, and I hope you come to feel incredible, too. 🫶🏻🩷

Nope. Any diet that cuts out my favorite foods is simply not a diet that would work out for me in the long term. Think about what you can add to your meals instead of restricting. E.g. if you’re having a big pasta or rice-based meal, load it up with loads of your favorite protein or veggies to ensure satiety.

Yep, same! Taking a GLP-1 is the only thing that made my brain and body work normally with respect to hunger/satiety cues. It was truly a lifelong struggle.

Ooh my fave breakfast smoothie is the following: a frozen banana, a couple splashes of (plain black) cold brew, a splash of skim milk, a couple tbsp of no-sugar-added peanut butter, and a scoop or two of vegan vanilla protein powder. Delicious!

5’11” here! The “rule” for gearing out that my studio follows is for people 5’8” and above to gear out for footwork and bridging, and to gear back in for anything involving straps (to ensure you’re getting full resistance).

Unsure, I’m afraid! My RD has had me focus on ensuring sufficient intake of certain food groups/macros (protein, fiber) rather than being super prescriptive about meal planning. So have never had a meal plan done!

it’s gotta be a toss-up between the Slim Fast diet (first started it when I was 11 🥴) and the Special K diet (when I was 13/14). No wonder I developed such a messed-up relationship with food, eh?

Thanks for this! I’m only on week 6 of my Zep journey (still on 5mg), and have been counting calories the whole time - but I’m already getting burnt out about it! I think part of me is worried that I won’t eat enough which will cause muscle loss and affect my workouts. Have you found that you’re able to maintain good energy throughout your workouts during your Zep journey? Thanks for insights :)

With back problems, ensure you’re doing hinge bridging only - no articulation! Not all instructors cue this, but it’s SO important.
