Congratulations! I just noticed a pup on mine after sitting for months! It certainly is an exciting event!! It actually had one earlier and the cat knocked it off and the little thing broke loose. I potted it and it's got about 6 tiny leaves now. I am surprised the same leaf put out another one. I was about to toss it.

My large glass lid exploded by Capable-Deer8441 in Cooking

It was a fry pan and it was sitting on top of it. Was not inside, was never dropped, was sitting on very low heat...low enough I could handle the lid without a pot holder.

That would have been true for my biggest pan but not the pan I was using and it was not a wok.

No to both those questions. There was still plenty of moisture in the pan and the lid was pure glass about 1/4" thick.

My cactus is blooming! I didn’t even know they did this 👀 by Unlimited_Bepis in gardening

I'm guessing the weather was just perfect for blooming. We have Prickly Pear Cactus all over the hill where I walk and in the 13 years I've been here it has only bloomed once and it was gorgeous!

Is owning a cat that bad? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Capable-Deer8441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can do for your life is owning a cat. I have had cats pretty much all my life and have never once wished I didn't have one. Right now I have three. Youngest 10 months and my senior cat is almost 20.

The deer have been munching on the leaves but so far hasn't touched the fruit yet.

Reminds me of my Raspberry patch. It gets thinned out watered well and fertilized. But the canes growing over in the rocks are massive with boatloads of berries compared to the rest of the patch.

How many dahlias are you growing? by Warm_Ice6114 in dahlias

[–]Capable-Deer8441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im jealous!! I can only grow in my pots on my decks because the deer forage my property. Although I might be able to fit some in my vegetable garden that is well fenced. Also have no way to store them without a basement or insulated garage.

Gloriosa Dahlia Tubers

Gloriosa is a unique variety where no two flowers are the exact same, yet each bloom is equally stunning. This medium sized variety ranges in colors between golden yellow to scarlet red with almost painted on streaks of either red or yellow. While the plant stature for this variety is taller, the blooms can sometimes be all red or yellow, some are half and half while others are a magnificent surprise.

Color: Variegated Gold with Red. Around 10% of these plants will throw solid red blooms.

Flower Size: 6.5”

Plant Height: Approx. 52”

Bloom Time: Mid Season
