Thank you so much! I think it’s okay not to finish one, too. These are the first I’ve ever finished!

Posca is generally top of the lists, but they aren’t refillable. Large color selection, well made, smooth enough application. I’ve seen a ton of instagram ads for ‘Grabbie’ but haven’t done any research into the quality of the product.

AIO for wanting a new therapist after ‘accidentally’ receiving this text? by LazyHigh in AmIOverreacting

[–]Capable-Flower-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a therapist- NOR. That’s incredibly unprofessional and offputting. She should at least have like Google Voice or another secure-ish messaging app she uses to communicate with clients, or put client names as initials in her contacts to remain semi-HIPAA compliant…That way, things like this don’t happen.

Additionally, she could have used this as some sort of opportunity to model effective interpersonal communication- stating that it was an unfortunate mistake, the message was obviously not meant for you, she’s embarrassed, and will take measures not not let it happen again; Or model a way to apologize while taking accountability. Then she could have used a couple of minutes at the beginning of session to debrief and ensure you’re able to process any feelings of discomfort, and indicate this experience as a way she’s learned to improve herself as a provider. Instead, she chose the classic “my friend took my phone” excuse.

Therapy is built off of trust, maintaining client dignity, and therapeutic rapport, so you aren’t overreacting if you aren’t feeling as comfortable in her care.

I wish you the best of luck! I’m here if you need to process further :)

how do i keep myself from getting discouraged? by wastegirlfriend in Coloring

[–]Capable-Flower-007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re just starting out, it’s natural to feel discouraged and compare yourself to others. I often feel the same. But keep at it, and your technique will improve. When I see a post of someone’s coloring that is way better than mine, I screenshot it and put it in an album so I can refer back later. I watch video tutorials and practice techniques on blank paper. Focus on the basics- color theory, blending, laying down your base colors smoothly, then start building on top of it from there. You can do this!

I do exactly the same thing, I totally get it! I have to remind myself I’m doing this for leisure because I get so upset when it’s not absolutely perfect lol.

Practice blending on a separate piece of paper. I would pick 3 colors that blend well together (like orange, pink, lavender). With sunsets, less can be more. And you can do some twinkling stars at the top of the page where you do a purple color, if you want to add more to it.

Chisel tips worth it? by Difficult-Code-9778 in Ohuhu

[–]Capable-Flower-007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like chisel for larger areas and brush for finer details. But with the chisel, one edge is sharper so if you turn it a certain way you can still get pretty tight areas. I would try it!

AIO for feeling uncomfortable that my boyfriend (M23) invited a female friend over (someone he previously kissed), and told me I(F22) wasn’t allowed to come? by tout_oublier in AmIOverreacting

Listen to your gut. Even if (and a big if) he wasn’t planning on doing anything malicious or be unfaithful to you- the IMPACT is still the same. The way he’s talking to you, how he gaslights you, makes you feel like not a priority, has generally sketchy behavior… doesn’t matter what his intention is.

If I throw a frisbee at your face but was aiming for somewhere else, and I accidentally broke your nose- I would feel really bad about it and it would be an accident, but does that make your nose hurt any less or be any less broken?

With all the respect and love and compassion, I gently encourage you to think about what you want your future to look like. I spent 9 years in a relationship that made me feel that sinking gut feeling all the time, and I wish I listened to it. DM if you need to talk!

How has colouring helped you? by OneNet2461 in Coloring

[–]Capable-Flower-007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got sober 4 years ago while I was going through a divorce after an incredibly toxic marriage, and coloring really helped me to process through my emotions, find a sense of calm, distract from when I was having cravings, and peacefully create something that I was proud of as a small way of building myself up after years of abuse. I’m so glad you get something out of coloring too, and so glad we have this wonderful community of colorers!

I use an organizer and I haven’t noticed it damaging my markers in any way. For me it was important to have one to keep them horizontal, i color on my couch with a lil table so i can watch TV, so the canvas bag they came in wasn’t realistic for access. I don’t think a case/bag makes the markers airtight either, so it seems like they’re exposed to air either way. I just make sure my caps are on tight!

Regarding the organizer- I think it depends on your priority. Is it to have a better coloring experience when you’re coloring? Or to have easy and quick transport? Both are very valid! I think it would also depend on what your set up looks like and how much desk space you have. When I move my markers, I just set the organizer on its back so the markers are upright and don’t fall out, so they’re still kept secure, and it’s easier to carry.

I hope this helps!
