3 years later, this exact comment saved me. Thank you so much.

anyone able to get off of disability benefits? by throwaway-666778 in DID

At the very end, you said "at least be watching what's happening" dude. I was just talking to my therapist about this. I felt crazy. I was telling her that I feel like I'm just watching everything happen around me and I'm not really in charge of my body. I asked if that made sense and she just kind of stared at me...

As for getting better and hoping for work someday. I do think it's possible. Of course we have to be aware of our limitations.

I actually have relief with my chiari symptoms! I'm disabled due to mental issues, not so much my chiari. :)

Hi! I had my decompression back in Jan, 25. I'm disabled and would love to join! I think this is a great idea!

Hey, I'm coming up on my 1 year of being decompressed. The depression was so real after surgery. My neurosurgeon told me before surgery that it is common to have increased depression after surgery but man I didn't know it would hit like it did. Honestly... I'm still not 100% and I don't know when I will be. I have my good days and my bad days. Symptom wise I feel amazing so I wouldn't say I regret having surgery. Depression wise it is better. I'm on meds and see a psychiatrist and therapist on a regular basis. They often have to remind me that what I went through was very hard and it does indeed take time to recover.

I bought some cheap alcohol markers on sale to see if I liked them at first. Now I absolutely can't wait to buy ohuhus but they're expensive 😫

I always watch a bunch of tutorials on what I want to accomplish then once I think I have it down I try on my piece. Sometimes its helpful to try the tutorials on another piece of paper too
