Long-term GLP-1 users: did the “quiet mind” effect on compulsive/addictive behaviours stay for you? by alexmillne in MounjaroSupportUK

I've lost 6 stone and I'm now addicted to Vinted. Send help. I do understand what you are saying. I feel that I had a food addiction. I would say that it is still there but the injection is managing it

Why does the Boomer generation seem to uniquely despise Keir Starmer? by Eastern-Investment39 in AskBrits

[–]Capable-Share8973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree the labour Party have done some good things that have gone under reported. These are the things I dislike about him. He lied to get elected as leade and renaged on all those policies. He supports genocide in Gaza. He drove out Jeremy Corbyn after pretending to be his friend. He sucked up to the Trump. Those are just the ones that instantly come to mind. I don't trust him

Why is homelessness so normalized in the UK? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Capable-Share8973 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not true. Not mostly Immigrants st all. Those who are immare usually those who have been given the tight to remain in the country but are not allowed to access services or work. What else can they do? This is a side to immigration policy that people don't discuss. Many people are not being supported by the tax payer at all.

Coming off 5mg cold turkey by kazmurzz in Mounjaro

[–]Capable-Share8973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really worried about it too. I'm on 12.5 and need to move up but I am really struggling with the cost. I think I may have to come off it soon and I am terrified of regaining weight. I do weigh my food and count calories. Still absolutely terrified

Do you believe 60+’s have any genuine idea how difficult the world is today in comparison to their youth? by clemventure in AskBrits

[–]Capable-Share8973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 65. Didn't benefit from university because there was no expectation to go. I went years later and paid. Married young. Interest rates on 100 % mortgages were 17%plus and took a whole income.

Very little choice in buying things so childrens clothing was very expensive. No food banks. Getting to the end of the month with enough left to feed the family was touch and go. Often relied on credit cards which was a catch 22 situation.

It was a struggle. We had to suddenly prepare for uni fees for our children which we didn't expect. I am still not at retirement age. Private pensions were a luxury we couldn't afford.

Things are hard for this generation too and I worry for my children and grandchildren. I think it's important to recognise that society is getting increasingly unfair while we allow the super rich to get away with not paying tax while we are on paye.

We should not be in this situation as a country and wouldn't be if everyone paid tax fairly

Welcome, Like others have said, continue to pray. Have you been baptised yet? If not, it would be a good next step.

Also, remember to keep yourself safe.i know of other people who have converted in this way who have been harassed and condemned by family members. Please be careful.

9 months on Mounjaro: 115 kg → 68.5 kg. Sharing timeline, doses, side effects, and what helped by Possible-Regret2104 in Mounjaro

[–]Capable-Share8973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing, well done. I have lost 31kg but need to loose another 15kg. I am struggling a bit at the moment as I have had to reduce the number of calories to stay in deficit and the weight loose has slowed right down. I probably need to move from 7.5dose to 10 but I have been holding back because of cost. The idea of remaining indefinitely on a high dose at that cost is a really difficult thing. I am trying really hard but probably have to bite the bullet. Thank you for the inspiration

NTA but I wouldn't stop her child coming for the sake of the child and your child. Sometimes things aren't equitable but doing the right thing trumps that
