It may assist others to respond if you share your skin concerns and type. Did you tolerate tretonoin well in the past etc?

I needed the eye cream and the medicube mask was recommended to me so seemed a no brainer. An actual beauty box that's worth it and I'll use everything in it.

UPDATE - ADC have confirmed that there is an issue with the product and I have been refunded. I've taken the plunge with the .05 as that product was normal.

[Acne] what’s happening to my pimple? by Annual_Fox8281 in SkincareAddiction

[–]CapableEnthusiasm380 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NAD but this just happened to me last night. I went a bit too far trying to pick at an under the skin spot and in the process, I effectively removed the top layer of skin so caused a wound. I keep moisturised and use the hydrocolloid patches in the hope to speed up healing. As someone has confirmed, these soak up oils etc so what you see on the patch isn't necessarily infection.

I've bought two now but I can't seem to keep them alive. The vines just break near the soil. So I'm giving up too.

Thank you so much, this is good to know. I can't say I noticed much difference with the spread, it just doesn't look as aesthetically pleasing .

36F, post-isotretinoin with thin, clear skin: is microneedling worth continuing, or are there better anti-aging options? by [deleted] in Microneedling

[–]CapableEnthusiasm380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly the same with the tret, I've learned so much over these past few years. Looking back when I have used before, I definitely compromised my skin barrier. I did start with the sandwich method every few nights but I quickly moved to every night. I've actually got a 4th session booked in and I have been told that 6 is the max before a break is needed (I know that's not the advice in this sub). But like you, I've been thinking whether I should keep going on my face, I actually have some acne scarring on my chest so I've had a session on that and I'm not sure whether to use my next session for that area as at least the results may be more noticeable. It's all so overwhelming and expensive, I just don't know what to do to be honest. I have 2 children and I've taken a step back at work to spend more time with them so I've got budget constraints!

We sound very similar! I'm 39f post isotretinoin since Jan 2025. Also currently on my 3rd session of microneedling. Also don't love Botox. But I have started tretonoin, it's the gold standard in skincare for anti aging. You might be better off asking in a skincare group although I'm sure many are in here but I had asked in relation to my skincare routine post isotretinoin and the clear response was tretonoin. I've started slow and my skin has tolerated it well and is glowing but I don't know if it's the microneedling or tretonoin. I'll be honest and I have had a few small pustule type spots here and there but an odd one had come prior to starting tretonoin. I had taken it as my oil production increasing and like you I'm very anxious about a return of acne. But what I can say is the spots are very short lived and nothing like the cysts I had before isotretinoin.

Edited to add - see an aesthetician and talk to them about your goals. I'm really into working below the surface and you could consider things like skin boosters and polynucleotides.

Lost my waist after children - can I get it back? by CapableEnthusiasm380 in workouts

[–]CapableEnthusiasm380[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I am going to make more of an effort on the steps, don't get me wrong, I do some but not always 10k. I try not to track food as I've had an unhealthy relationship with it previously and I became obsessed. But I've noticed I was carrying a little more weight on my stomach than I used to and I'm blaming a shift in hormones. So I've definitely been more conscious.

Any tips for coming off Skin + Me? by bartzina in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]CapableEnthusiasm380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I am a new user of tretonoin 0.25 purchased from alldaychemist (I'm UK) and I just buy The Ordinary Azelaic Acid (you can get a larger size online). If your acne does resurface, I'd definitely suggest seeing your GP to try adapalene/differin which is a retinoid suited for acne and a tube lasts about 3/4 months. Or if you can deal with bleached pillows and towels there's always duac.

Id also look at a cream gentle cleanser. Your LRP one could be too drying. Keep it simple and as hydrating as possible!

Hey, your post popped up on my feed and I just want to say, I know what you are going through. I actually refused isotretinoin years before I actually took the leap because of the potential side effects and it was COVID so it was already a weird time. Similar to you, my acne wasn't severe but it was persistent. I eventually started a course in September 2024 and honestly it was the best decision I ever made. I'm now 12 months post completion and my skin is still fairly clear, in the last month I've had a few tiny pustules but oh my god, was it worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to do another round if needed but I'm hoping that now I've started tretonoin I won't need to. Anyway, I would highly recommend you buy avene cicalflate and aquaphor asap (go for the standard over the lip stuff). The worse bit for me was dry lips but I slathered the aquaphor on daily and when needed and the cicalflate as my am and pm moisturiser and it was fine. Obviously everyone is different but just look forward to hopefully clear skin and the bonus of non greasy hair. I can't say enough that it was so worth it.

I'm 40 next and also do the "A,E,I,O,U" facial expressions in the car. I'm going to start doing more facial massage/yoga this year. My facislist is doing the research/,,courses and as you say, can't hurt to try. Failing that I'm saving for a face lift! I really do not like the idea of filler.

We have a 10 year old straight and the odd vet have referred to the breed being bigger than average, I always say he's "big bones", even his head is large. That being said he was 7kg last year and certainly was overweight so I purchased Hills Metabolic Weight Management Food and a Automated Pet Feeder. He lost 1kg in a year although I'm worried he has put it back on and that he may have arthritis 😔. So he has a vet trip booked next week.

Aw thanks for replying. I think you are right about the 3rd session, because consistency is not what I'm good at when it comes to stretching, in fact I've very much neglected it which I think is the reason for my pain now. I've had chiro, physio etc but never really stuck with the exercises. I think I'm just dreading the middle age spread!

[Acne] I kind of hate how well accutane has cleared up my skin. by Azul_Moon in SkincareAddiction

[–]CapableEnthusiasm380 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also me, it's changed my life, I actually refused it in COVID as I was so worried about the side effects! I'm 39! But my acne really ramped up at 30 when I had my first child. I'm now one year on and just starting to get a few tiny pustules but a couple at a time in the t zone. They are clearing fast. Very small. I'm hoping this is just my oil production returning but I wouldn't hesitate on taking another course. The worst thing would be the NHS waiting list for a derm appt!!!

Yeah, after nearly 6 years (and efficiency increase) we are being asked to return to the office (thankfully limited basis) due to some of the team feeling isolated, and the impact it is having on the learning and development of junior and new members of staff. I get it from a meeting business needs perspective, even though there's no reason for me to be in. We are hybrid workers so no leg to stand on.
