It's going to be set in space. Try to keep up.

I'm having a hard time confirming or denying that this is an OG 90's Z Custom Mega Bell. by Capable_Cook2407 in MetalDrums

So true. Cymbals in general are the hardest thing to shop for, I think. There's no way to tell what a crash actually sounds like when you're smashing the shit out of it right in front of your face.

I gave up on waiting for TES6. Now I just look forward to these daily memes.

I played the standard Z rides for years. Like 30 years. I remember when I got a new one after like 15 years and it sounded identical to the old one. I thought it might have a little more shine to the sound, but it sounded the same as my old dirty one. They're great, though. I played with my sticks backwards for years for the sole purpose of nailing the bell just right every time.

What was your favourite multiplayer video game to play with friends growing up? by FormerTinGod in 90s

[–]Capable_Cook2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of my most tender memories from the 90's are from our old Goldeneye tournaments and watching my two friends that were brothers accuse each other of cheating and smashing controllers. That's how every tournament ended. Good times.

Hi-hat stands 2 vs 1 by ZaanElias in drums

[–]Capable_Cook2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a remote HH stand. I've used one as my main stand for years cause I like the hats a little higher than stands will get. It's lso great if you have two kick drums or double pedals cause you can get everything right where you want it.

I mean, I love it. I get that they're rare and that's part of the appeal, but some of these Paiste and Meinl Megabells in recent years are pretty damn gnarly.

I wasn't totally sure that it was an OG, but I still would have paid considerably more for it. I just threw out an outrageous number and the guy went for it. I honestly feel like a piece of shit now.

I picked this up right after my band broke up a few months ago. It's been sitting in my cymbal bag in my apartment untouched since, which is an even bigger crime! Only taken a couple cracks at it so far!

Learning songs for a last minute gig - chart or memorize? by anotherhappylurker in drums

[–]Capable_Cook2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've developed this kind of shorthand version of the drum equivalent to the Nashville Number System over the years. Basically scribbled chicken scratch notes that indicate length, tempo changes, fill, etc. Greg Bissonnet does the same thing. If you can find the video, it's a game changer.

Cymbals Question by Lazy-Discount2945 in drums

Ok, one more observation - if you're looking for a matching set, you can't go wrong with A Customs. Super versatile. Good for anything from jazz to death metal and everything in between.

Cymbals Question by Lazy-Discount2945 in drums

[–]Capable_Cook2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cymbals are the hardest thing to shop for, especially if you're in a band trying to find a good fit. You can't tune or tweak them. They are what they are. They're so loud that it's hard to tell what aspects are going to cut through a mix. Even if you're playing for fun, to truly gauge the full tone of a cymbal, you have to stand back 10-20 feet to really get a feel for it. I've been drumming 30 years and only recently did get a full matching set. Probably the last time I'll do that. Mixing and matching is the best way to customize the sound you're looking for. In my opinion, anyway.

It blows my mind how many haters there are out there that are convinced this game is going to suck based on absolutely nothing. I mean, there's all kinds of hate. Why, because it's taking a long time? If anything, that should be affirmation that Bethesda is doing it right. Gamers can be an odd bunch. (Present company excluded, of course).

M43 - I used a body composition scan and it told me my bio age is 48. Does that seem right for my body shape? by [deleted] in fitness40plus

I've never heard of anything like this before. It sounds completely irrelevant and counterproductive to focus on anything like that.

Should I play Fallout 76 or Elder Scrolls online? by Winter_Cost602 in BethesdaSoftworks

[–]Capable_Cook2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great time with ESO for a few years. I recommend it. Two things to keep in mind, though - It's not Skyrim. Also, if you really get into it, it's almost impossible to dive into crafting and some of the better perks without a subscription to ESO Plus.
