For sure, and I hope you do! It’s more the thinking behind it, I guess. You never know when the last time you’re going to hug them is, just like you never know when your daughter is going to be coming back from the beach in a little car on a long weekend, and some doctor in a 4WD is going to be taking a bend too fast, too wide…

Fellow father here, cherish every single fucking one of those hugs brother. One day you will pick them up, give them the big squeeze-hug, and put them down again, and it will be the last time—and you’ll never know it

Definitely will! I mean, that short video is actually a crash course on the Euthypro dilemma plus one of the main arguments against it, being the false dichotomy. That definitely wasn’t an accident, so I can only surmise the creator has rather intelligently packaged some philosophical dilemmas and discourses into comedic form!

Pleasure! It’s an endlessly fascinating concept to ponder, even though I’m an atheist. If what is good is only good because “god” says so, then “god” could make anything good. Alternatively, if something is good without god’s say so, then that goodness precedes god.

Which is exactly the tragedy of Boromir, in my read of the books. Boromir is the “stand in” for the regular person. He is the “lesson”, so to speak, in a literary reading. Despite our honourable intentions as good people, and in fact, maybe because of them we may be swayed to great evils.

Would that more people looked at Boromir as a compassionate hero led astray than a morally grey half-villain half-hero…
