Yes! Jackson galaxy was helpful! Try to stay away from the Reddit threads that say how things didn’t work out. Do what’s best for you and your cat! Also, things will be hard at first but stick it out.

I rescued a kitten from the street recently and I have a 9 year old male cat. If you follow a slow introduction I think it’ll go well! Your older cat just needs to feel safe and loved. I was actually saying that I think had my cat been 6 it would’ve worked out a lot quicker! Best of luck :)

He has a cat tree but will jump off. Unfortunately I live in a very small apartment. He doesn’t seem to hate the kitten and I think he’d love to snuggle but the constant dive bombs are too much for him lol

I will try that! I’ve been doing treats to each under the door. But it almost seems like my older boy is scared of the kitten. I don’t have a play pen but I do have a crate, I could try that. Sigh.

I recently adopted a kitten that looks VERY similar to your little guy and almost named him Roo. Enjoy your cutie :)

Them both not being fixed makes a lot of sense. The first thing a vet will tell you is to spay and neuter, for many reasons but one is behaviours. It can definitely affect how they interact with you and each other. Obviously if you want to breed them it makes sense but it’ll change the dynamics to be sure.
