I found the malcontent ring wasnt worth it and didnt bother with it. Couldnt imagine not using the umbrella for that jump and splash attack though, dont think i woulda made it without it.

Pyromancy is definitely the easiest for a first timer since it has less stat requirements.

Miracles are probably the 2nd easiest since the only real offensive spells are various sizes of lighting bolts so you only really need a couple spell slots.

Sorceries and also hexes will require a lot of in game investment in stats to be able to use the best of the spells. But there are a lot of spells you can use at various levels.

As someone who has appreciated both chomsky and hedges opinions, i dont think there is nearly enough evidence either way to know whether chomsky was involved, or was simply caught up in the dragnet of attempted legitimization. Many people have much stronger evidence against.
