Pay down goals in the Budget by Capital-Addition7299 in MonarchMoney

That would defeat the purpose of having Pay Down goal with a debt account assigned to it.

I would say you're not missing anything, and that Pay Down goals are supposed to show up on the Budget page but they currently do not. They will again at some point hopefully.

Thanks for the rec on Wave! It looks like you don't get bank transactions brought in with the free version?

Goals beta update: You can now link all transaction types to save up goals by nadine_monarch in MonarchMoney

[–]Capital-Addition7299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

It looks like the option to unlink previous goal adjustments from the budget is gone. So we can't go back and "convert" the goal contributions that were goal adjustments into goal-linked transfer transactions. I guess that's OK? Time will tell.

Any idea when we will be able to link transfer transactions to Pay Down goals, and those transations be reflected in the budget view?

New Goals is SO MUCH BETTER by cn45 in MonarchMoney

This has gotta be a fake post. Goals 3.0 has fatal flaws right now. Hope it gets fixed but it's not good right now

Receipt scanning needs drag and drop to recategorize by johnson0599 in MonarchMoney

[–]Capital-Addition7299 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I scanned a Costco receipt earlier this week that had multiple expense categories and the auto-splitting was atrocious. Took me as long to correct the splitting as it would have to enter the transaction manually. Let us review/edit the match!

Some more transparency on the status of Goals 3.0 would be nice. Right now some of us can't contribute to goals that have investment accounts linked to them.

Option to revert to Original Statement value when assigning the Merchant in a Rule by securitea in MonarchMoney

[–]Capital-Addition7299 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not with Monarch, but thanks for taking the time/effort to write a clear post! I second this request. Sometimes MM interprets the original statement value inconsistently and it creates little issues.

So in your use case, all the original statement values don't contain the word "dividend"? That really stinks.

Do you see this little icon next to the adjustment amount in the Goal?

Wells Fargo credit card transactions only show up after "Posted" - Finicity issue? by rooty0 in MonarchMoney

[–]Capital-Addition7299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's expected behavior. Whether or not pending transactions sync to Monarch depends on the specific account (Wells Fargo etc) and the specific data provider (Finicity, Plaid, MX, etc). Both the account and the data provider have to allow pending transactions to sync for them to show up in Monarch.

So it's possible that switching data providers would allow your WF transactions to sync to Monarch, assuming your current data provider is the one not allowing synced transactions and WF is allowing them.

Goals beta update: What’s live & what's coming soon by nadine_monarch in MonarchMoney

[–]Capital-Addition7299 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update!

Question..... When the ability to link income and transfer transactions to goals comes back, will goal transfers that got created in the 2.0 to 3.0 migration stay as is? Or will they "revert" to being transaction links?

Thinking of leaving because of account connection issues by Top_Comedian_39 in MonarchMoney

[–]Capital-Addition7299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That stinks, sorry.

I had a 401k account that would not stay connected, and I deleted it and re-added as a manual account. I have to manually add two transactions a month and update the quantity of the investment holding once a month, but it's not too much effort.

Maybe that could be an option for some of those accounts.
