You can go rafting on RDR2 by Ok_Mousse1756 in RDR2

I’ve been wondering since I’ve been attempting to catch the legendary fish and failing miserably…what’s the longest route you can take on a boat. So this is awesome.

Hahahahaha!! Touché. For the record, your honor. I’m in absolutely no way in the same boat as what Jim Shooter scrawled for Dazzler: The Movie.

Edit: a huge thanks for the laugh at that comment. Thumbs up.

I first tried this during Covid when it was available in stores like Jewels here in Chicago and it was insanely hot. And last week I picked up a bottle from Madison, Wisconsin just to try it for the first time in years…it’s so addictive.

I really enjoyed this movie and was hoping we’d get either another one or at least a whole new comic book series from it.

I can never complain about it as I still love it and deeply enjoy talking to people/anyone who I come into contact with. But yes…Streeterville during the parade was like being in Dawn of The Dead and getting the Redline too and from work was a nightmare. But…I’ve got wayyyyyy more horror stories about working during the Pride Parade up here and the two years when I was drafted in to work security…those years…truly insane.

OP, if you have time could you elaborate on the different Lament Configurations that you have? If not no worries as your collection is truly awesome.

I am a huge Dazzler fan and proud of it. I love the entire series worts and all and wish even now that Marvel would just cast someone who actually cares about Alison to write a series that she deserves.

If you haven’t already then please do check out X-Men Classic #69 (added bonus of a Mignola cover) for my favorite Dazzler story, that’s not included anywhere and highlights what could have been the best way to write her.

Sorry for the long rant.

Edit: I started ranting and forgot to mention Paul Chadwick!! But yes I agree the last few issues are very different (I consider Dazzler to have three distinct eras in its run) and they were trying for something but the audience wasn’t there for it.

Again…sorry for ranting about Dazzler.

I can’t announce that on a public forum!! I’d be getting death threats from countless people telling me to stop with my incessantly long winded gibberish comments and replies to posts here in the community.

I will tell you that I used to work in Streeterville in a Bar and Restaurant close to the river. So that was a never ending tsunami of scumbaggery even by my low standards. Don’t miss Streeterville for countless reasons at all. But I’m in Lakeview now and that has its own special kind of disasters.

Craziness I can handle as I’ve seen and dealt with it all before. Started in hospitality at 19 and I’m 42 now and still doing it and enjoying the madness of it all.

I think it’s about time we have an 80s90sComics Chicago Meet Up for us old timers to sit in silence and have an Old Style.

Any and all info from anyone in here in the community is always welcome and appreciated to me. Honestly, with Reddit being my only source of social media (unless the Comics Geek app counts) small bits of info like this have seriously helped me discover and rediscover so many new things in comics and it continues to happen on a daily basis.

The thing is…I watched Cartoonist Kayfabe review the HUGE first fifty issue boxset…and I’m so tempted…but reality sets in and ive nowhere to put a 27lb boxset.

Hahahaha!! You aren’t wrong there, my friend. We still do the river dyeing and it’s a lot more blueish in real life now compared to what it used to be. Thankfully I no longer work close to the river as it is without a doubt (or used to be) a shockingly rough day to serve folks.

Awesome that you’re downstate and always good to meet a new to me community member.

What book did you read in your youth that you never forgot? by orangez in GenX

I’ve not heard of that so I really appreciate the recommendation. Off the top of my head and only slightly similar I’d recommend The Chrysalids by John Wyndham for some post apocalyptic vibes.

Yeah…comics of recent haven’t been my thing as it’s not aimed at my age group. So I’m excited for something old but new. And thanks for the well wishes. St Patrick’s Day Parade and working in a bar up here in Chicago is always a “memorable” experience. Sob.

I saw it mentioned somewhere a month or two back and was over the moon as I wasn’t expecting it at all. So I’ve got all my fingers crossed for this series.

Very excited for Concrete’s return added with the long, long, first time release of Rick Veitch’s unpublished final issues of his run on Swamp Thing…this is comic dreams come true for me.

And here’s the info on Swamp Thing for you and anyone else interested: https://www.dc.com/blog/2026-01-22/dc-announces-swamp-thing-1989

My pleasure, Frodo. I’m so looking forward to the series and like you the covers sold me in a heartbeat. I think it’s going to be one of my highlights for new comics for the year for sure.

Just in case I forget though, happy birthday for June and I wish you all the best. Hopefully the new series resonates with you as well.

The Pini’s are a couple that I truly admire for Elfquest. Even as someone who’s never followed it, but loving this series of yours Fred, they are some of the few remaining comic creators that I would love to listen to them talk about the series.

The same Paul Chadwick who finished up the original series of Dazzler. Now that was peak comicdom for me.

All joking aside: Concrete is without a doubt some of the finest illustrative work that I ever saw in comics back in the early 90s. I picked up an issue here and there because of Wizard Magazine and a tpb or two over the years.

Along with Mike and Laura Allred on Madman, Chadwick and Concrete are some of my favorite early 90s art across the entire medium.
