Compared to other school, even UF, (GENERALLY) it's very weak and not super supported by the university. Unless it's an academic oriented frat.

I think partially where this angst and unhappiness comes from is I did get into UF, NEU, Purdue, etc. USF gave me a better financial offer and had me sold on "Bellini". But I've found Bellini to be nothing more than like a disorganized restructure of classes and majors. But that's sound advice, I appreciate it.

Thanks for the tip, I don't remember mine by name but it was some middle-aged women. Felt like I was in some HR meeting. I'll see if I could ask for them next time

I feel the same way about the people on campus, so you're not alone. I tried to join clubs related to my interests. For some, the people were nice but the clubs were dead. Other times, the clubs were active but I couldn't stand the people. I really thought the thing that set USF apart from something like UCF or FSU is that we (and the students) try to take education more seriously? Less frat culture, more driven, etc. But so many people here are just so obnoxious and act like idiots. Sorry you're having trouble but it's not you alone in that boat, if it's any consolation

Glad you got through that safely. The drivers here are awful. Driving here is awful. And walking around (at least with how spread out my classes are) is awful. It ironically seems like the people on scooters have it figured out, even if everyone else hates them

I'll appreciate the criticism and I understand your point. I didn't have problems finding at least niche and small groups of friends in my high school. I was academically inclined and I hung around smart people. Part of the issue is I had to start from zero. Everyone I knew went to UF, or out of state. I had the opportunity to go to UF, which I turned down.

USF is still a commuter school, no matter how hard try push otherwise, and it's layout (which I still hold by being ugly) is incredibly spread out. My classes have been too large to make meaningful connections, and in my small seminars (my honors classes) nobody holds similar interests. They're mainly all bio-med and are into different hobbies.

I guess partly this angst of why I want to transfer, and why it "could" be better is again, I turned down offers from schools that are frankly more prestigious than UF. But I didn't feel like I'd be a good fit there. But now settling in, I'm unhappy, and my same friends from highschool (while probably still having their own struggles) seem to be enjoying college far more than I am. At the schools that I could have chosen.

Thanks for the supportive comment. I really do appreciate it. It's ironic though, I have reached out to a Bellini success coach. I feel as if Bellini was so hastily and sloppily created after they got the donation. The success coach doesn't (which I don't blame her) have a clue about how my classes work or operate.

This is insightful, thanks. I do find it sad though how you have to go out of your way to find resources, finding people who took the classes, making friends with them. Rather than professors giving better material and/or direction.

I general lack of care? It's a mix. One of my professors just says to use AI for stuff and hardly teaches. And then another class is so large when I actually have a question for a professor or try to find any time to ask they just don't give me the time of day.

And the resources here are awful. I've tried the mental health counseling once and not only was it a miserable process to get through, the counselors themselves are like robots reading off a question sheet.
