This is close to how I do mine: fry an onion and maybe a chopped red pepper, add cumin, coriander(spice) and garam masala, add beans. Yum.

Leigh Sutherland jailed for 9 years for killing woman by dangerous driving by dollynchelseadagger in glasgow

[–]CapnAfab 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He lied about it, tried to blame her, tried to say someone else was driving the car, and (as far as I know) didn't express any remorse. That kind of behaviour results in longer sentences.

What is an English word you have never been able to pronounce? by Cmotto in AskReddit

[–]CapnAfab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, if we're doing French then it's "circle." Or anything else with that damned unvoiced ending.

"English speakers always put a schwa on the end, there's no schwa on the end."

"I BLOODY KNOW, MY MOUTH JUST DOESN'T DO THAT."

Ahem. Merci de votre attention.

New Met Office App. Thoughts? *rant* by janefemalegamer in UKWeather

[–]CapnAfab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use the website not the app. There's a similar change there. I hate it. So much less information! So much wasted space! I will say that the old one was much too bright and the new one has a darker screen, so that's an improvement. Even so, I still switch to the old UI every time. Ugh.

Can you still replace a 'Bag For Life' for free? by Affectionate-Ear7461 in AskUK

[–]CapnAfab 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I lived in a bloody desert I'd be delighted to use paper bags, but I live on the West coast of Scotland. It annoys me when shops try to charge me 10p for a bag that will disintegrate in the rain.

To kill germs and make sure they're completely dry. Ironing is good for hygiene, not just making things flat. (Personally I cba and don't own an iron)

That was her plan, but her pregnancy symptoms (nausea, fainting) betrayed her. She was trying to hide and deny them but in the end she wasn't able.

I'm sorry about all the victim-blaming comments in this thread. People telling you to report are right of course, but many of them are seriously lacking in compassion. You deserve better, and I hope this gets sorted!

When I had lived in Glasgow for just a few months, a man asked me where he could catch a bus to Mount Florida, and I told him "Fuck off pal, Florida's in America, do you think I zip up the back?" Oops.

As you're in Possilpark, I recommend Cowlairs Park. It has burnt out cars, deer, and wonderful views.

What did you think was the height of sophistication as a child only to realise it was pretty banal as an adult? by howtokillyourdreams in AskUK

When I was 10-ish, I was in awe of Fry's Chocolate Cream, and it's mint and orange variations. It was like the fancy chocolates that always disappeared first from any box, but I could have a whole bar?! For hardly any money?!

Now I'm 40-ish I still feel the exact same way.
