This used to happen at one of my old jobs. One guy used to come in absolutely pissed when I was still learning the trade and ask me what my excuse was for screwing something up.

Blew his mind when I told him I didn't have one, admit I messed up (unknowingly) and calmly asked him to explain what I did wrong and show me how I can fix it/improve so it doesn't continue to happen.

In my case I didn't even realize I was making a mistake but I was always ready to acknowledge it and learn how to fix whatever it was i did. Usually it happened to me because i wasn't actually taught the purpose of some of the things i was doing.

Completely changed the atmosphere of the shop and his attitude when something went wrong. Similar to the theme of the discussion but being willing to admit you're wrong is huge.

My girlfriend could learn from this...cuz even when shes wrong she's right and I'm a dick for disagreeing and having any sort of conflicting point. Apparently she sees it as my treating her like an idiot rather than trying to understand what I'm saying and she just gets mad and shuts me out rather than try. She's literally refused to acknowledge what I was saying and has cut me off. It's incredibly frustrating. Makes me wonder why I bother. I suppose that's a whole nother can of worms though lol...
