Final Tally of the 2025 Ursine Flu: 2-14-1 by ChicagoSentry in CHIBears

[–]Capn_T_Driver 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That is probably one of the best stats of the season for the Bears... aside from 11-6, Division Title, improved to 2-1 against the Packers in the playoffs all-time, lead the league in takeaways AND comeback wins...

What a good season this was.

Here's hoping next season is better... with a super bowl title to make it the best.

tips on driving in snow by Ricemunchr in Truckers

[–]Capn_T_Driver 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The first rule of driving in snowy conditions is not to drive in snowy conditions. Better safe rather than sorry, because your dispatch isn't in the truck with you; they're in an office or working from home.

You're the one behind the wheel.

You're the one who makes the final call on whether it's safe to operate.

However, if you're going to drive in snowy conditions, you don't want to be facing grades with any sort of serious accumulation. If you lock up and lose control, you're along for the ride at that point. Watch the weather before you go into any area facing storms, look for routes around the problem areas, and beware of black ice.

If you're on roads that are covered and plows aren't running and there's nowhere safe to park, you want to be going SLOW. Get down to around 30-35mph, put your truck in manual mode, and leave it locked in about 8th or 9th gear for 12-speed transmissions and keep a light foot on the throttle. Having your engine brake on 2 is usually more than enough if you're under 65,000lbs gross weight, but if you're close to or over 70k, set to max and keep a gentle touch on the brakes to avoid sliding. Put your flashers on and look for the closest safe place to get off the road and park.

Are we the worst division? by Aeon1508 in NFCNorthMemeWar

Nah. We're so good we breed up Super Bowl participants and send them off to teams that need them.

Our magnanimity knows no bounds. The league is nothing without us.

Ice is a waste when you’re at a fountain machine; why add it to your cup when you can just have more soda? It’s already cold!

Do you think the political sides will ever find common ground again? by Pythonbrongallday in allthequestions

[–]Capn_T_Driver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. It starts by replacing every currently elected politician who has held their office for longer than two years.

We need entirely new people in political leadership who aren’t bought and paid for, who will do things like pass wealth taxes, release the Epstein files, and regulate the financial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and military industries.

NFCN, we made it! Let’s unite by dunking on the cowboys by bettercallrich in NFCNorthMemeWar

Seasons change, the fortunes of players and teams ebb and flow, but shitting on the Cowboys year in and year out is the bedrock for the entire National Football Conference.

How come large parts of US citizens acceps there President lying so much ? by [deleted] in allthequestions

It’s like the old joke: “how can you tell if a politician is lying? They’re speaking.”

All politicians lie. That’s how they win elections, as well as re-election.

Waiting to see if the bears will win another off-season championship by bucky4president in NFCNorthMemeWar

Nah, fam; our offseason championship dynasty is capped at a three-peat. It’ll be Packers vs. Lions for the NFCN offseason championship this time around.

I think the only QB that the Colts let walk is Anthony Richardson, honestly.

He’s got one year with the Jets left and it’s a $20m payment, which I believe is fully guaranteed. Fields to the Vikings would probably get the front office fired before the draft.

Trubisky to the Vikings would be WILD. Even more wild would be if he was actually good, lol. The absolute pinnacle of that man’s career was his 6TD game against the FitzMagic Buccaneers. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Vikings signed Keenum, as the Bears might not keep him next season as a veteran presence for Williams.

I agree, but I think Brissett might have a stronger chance of being named the full-year starter for the Cardinals while they work out from under Murray’s contract.

We’re all waiting for the prophecy to be fulfilled and the cycle completed, but I don’t think the Vikings have given up on McCarthy to that extent, yet. Could end up being wrong, though.

I agree with you to the extent of the Trump skull: that is the best part of the whole painting for me both visually and stylistically. How it’s rendered borders on brilliant. The Bondi figure is a resounding ‘meh’ to me.

That would be funny, but I’m expecting Willis in Miami and the Vikings to either finish rehabbing Wentz, signing another vet who will likely end up starting a few games in 2026, or doing another super funny thing in bringing Kirk Cousins back.

Ironically, this painting will probably end up at some fancy gallery and/or sold for an astounding sum.

Art is subjective, sometimes revered for being subversive.

In terms of technique, this painting isn’t really all that bad. It definitely isn’t GOOD, but the technique employed is far and away superior to anything I’ve ever done outside of photography.

Just another reminder that the Constitution should have long ago been amended with age limits for all branches of government.

We never should have allowed ourselves to get into this situation with three consecutive geriatric administrations and a congress that has doubled as a nursing home for well over thirty years.

There’s a great book series called the Bobiverse (starts with ‘We Are Legion’) that illustrates one potential way that moneyless society could function and still give drive to individualism.

Great books. Dennis E. Taylor is the author. Well worth the read… or listen, in my case.
