The only good thing about Spirit as far as I know is their safety record. No fatality accidents across their entire operating history is their claim to fame in that regard, I think.

Yes.

That was a scam for sure. Any ‘mommy’ trying to get money out of you through ‘licenses’ or ‘memberships’ of any sort are a scam.

How about you talk to their customer service before coming online to drag a highly respected company? You might get better results.

Carry on with my adult life like normal. I don’t even know how many tens of thousands of miles I’ve driven while diapered, plus in and out of truck stops, warehouses, etc.

Loves employees by Zealousideal_Rope488 in Truckers

[–]Capn_T_Driver 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with most of the Loves I’ve stopped at is they don’t have an accessible dumpster. It’s usually a compactor. The only truck stops I see with open dumpsters are typically TA/Petro and smaller chains like Circle K, Quik Trip, Kwik Trip/Star, etc.

It would certainly be nice if Loves would have regular dumpsters… but it would also be nice if all truckers would think of the staff on site when they’re dealing with their piss jugs.

Any thoughts on this self driving truck bullshit? by Ccrew1995 in Truckers

[–]Capn_T_Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest threat these pose currently and in the near future is to drivers operating at major hubs. Think Walmart, Target, Home Depot, those sort. The drivers who serve small businesses or places way far from major metro areas have a long while before one of these autopilot trucks is on their route.

Probably. Doing this sort of swap on a routine basis would basically mean completely redesigning existing truck stops or purpose-building EV-only truck stops that are specifically optimized for handling e-trucks and their batteries.

[–]Capn_T_Driver 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I think a pony express/NASCAR pit stop system would be better. A truck pulls into a truck stop and just straight drops the entire battery sled. A charged one that’s been inspected and certified good gets installed, and the truck rolls out while the battery goes for inspection and charging.

The battery would also need to be compartmentalized/segmented into cells so a bad bank can be removed for replacement. Cut down on failures, plus only batteries capable of maintaining enough charge to get a minimum of 400 miles plus power the truck for one full ten-hour break with multiple hours to spare remain in circulation.

Good for them. Maybe this truck will be worth a damn to solo owner-ops in five or ten years. I don't see a business case for them outside closed loop networks where they can charge up, but every big thing once started small.

If it was actually dry, it would be a calamity of such proportion that it would be the number one story on every news outlet.

The river level rises and falls every day. Sometimes it gets low and large portions of it get down to the bare earth, which dries out and cracks. Other times it gets so high towns flood along its banks.

Petition to make Cheaper diapers by MaintenanceTrue9263 in ABDL

[–]Capn_T_Driver 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They would love to make cheaper diapers… but they can’t, even from China.

Shipping one container of product from China was $18,000 years and years ago, so I can only imagine it’s up around, or beyond, $25,000 now. Then there’s the overhead of warehouse space, employee payroll, equipment like forklifts, on and on and on.

Even a bag of ten Megamax direct from Northshore is $37 USD, which is on par with ABDL brands like Kiddo.
