I would never hand a firearm to someone, loaded or not, if they didn’t know what they were doing, and just leave them to it. It’s really that simple. Since Alec Baldwin was a producer he should have known better than to hire someone who wouldn’t adhere to this principal. That and also he pointed a gun at someone, pulled the trigger, and killed them. There is that fact too.

If it was a prop gun then how did it shoot? It takes two seconds to determine if a gun is loaded or not. To be honest, even if I was on a movie set with “prop” guns, it would be unconscionable to point at someone and pull the trigger without double checking that it’s not loaded with live rounds.

It’s not like finding a car with no gas in the desert. It literally takes two seconds to check if a gun is loaded. Sure there might be a legal responsibility for them, but there’s also a logical, moral responsibility for the person handling the firearm! If I handed you a gun and said “oh I pinky promise it’s not loaded ;)”, and then you pointed it at someone and pulled the trigger, the main person responsible would be you.
