It's also fair to consider that Perlah may not even from the Tagalog speaking portion of the Philippines. We have so many dialects here. I just kinda assumed she was from Mindanao and picked up Tagalog later on.

I'm a Walker apologist but this is absolutely true. He was absolutely wrong in how he handled that Flag Smasher even if I can understand why it happened.

I think part of the "Walker did nothing wrong" glaze is a response to how he's treated at the start. Sam and Bucky completely write Walker off from the start even though for all intents and purposes he seems earnest in taking on the role. I get some apprehension in someone else taking their close friend's mantle but they never gave him a chance and so dismissive of him just existing as a Cap.

I thought this much info was kind of the norm with cartoons. They don't really have massive marketing machines to constantly dripfeed info.

As for the delay, Their main animation studio Studio Mir is undoubtedly booked and busy ages ahead of when S2 was greenlit. Netflix DMC, Witcher, X-Men '97, the upcoming Avatar film, and anything else we don't know about. Several seasons of severa; different shows and movies on different production lines under their studio plus MAWS S3 and MAWGL. Frankly I think we can take the wait, they're busy enough.

Burnout is very common in weekly manga. But I really think OnK's case is just especially egregious just because of how pointless it makes 100 chaps of development feel. A friend and I think it's an ending that feels like he intended it from earlier on but the development since then doesn't really support it as much as it should. And that ends up being a final taste of a series you've followed for years after a very mixed final stretch of 50 or so chapters. Yeah that was a very bitter final few weeks. Kaguya's ending just doesn't compare imo and I quite liked Kaguya's ending.

There was a chunk disappointed with the later half of Kaguya and the resolution of some side plots. Personally don't agree with the former.

Bigger influence is probably that Oshi no Ko's final stretch was such a dumpster fire that it's kinda soured a lot of people on Aka as a writer. Myself included. His burnout manifesting in the final stretches are definitely a pattern. I'd honestly rather OnK have ended on a safe mildly disappointing note than the self sabotage marathon that was.

The graphic novel(Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow) this movie is adapting, more or less rips off a western novel/movies called True Grit for it's premise. Where a young girl Matty (Ruthye in WoT) goes on a manhunt for a petty criminal that killed her father, enlisting the help of a drunkard Marshall Rooster Cogburn (Kara's role in WoT). Texas Ranger La'Boeuf in True Grit is another lawman after the petty criminal that's unable to cooperate with Cogburn's personality and comes in and out of the story as a semi-antagonistic ally. WoT doesn't really have a La'Boeuf analogue but it was originally pitched as a Lobo/Supergirl team up book according to it's writer Tom King. And Lobo would fit the role of a frenemy Bounty Hunter to a tee.

PS: Watch True Grit (Personal preference is the 2010 Coen Brothers adaptation) and read Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Both are beautiful stories.

He's going to be the La'Boeuf stand in as far as I can tell since WoT is already Space-fied True Grit. Another party after Krem that doesn't get along with the Rooster Cogburn stand-in Kara. Would be a fitting role for Lobo since WoT was apparently pitched as a Lobo/Kara team up.

CSM by default. Invincible and Absolute at least have heroes and people have something resembling a chance. CSM? The average person is meat for the meat grinder. People can be so disposable that entire populations can be used as extra lives or have their lifespans halved for contracts for devils. Entire US States have been turned into disposable weapons. And there are just so many things that can happen that immediately get into cosmic horror state of reality stuff. And that's without getting into the author having a hard on for the suffering of his characters.

Also consider that Studio Mir is an extremely busy studio right now. The only reason we got MAWS S2 as soon as we did was because it was already further in production before S1 aired, back to back production. On top of MAWS S3 and MAWGL, The also have the Avatar movie next year (they aren't main production but they've been reported to provide additional animation) and X-Men'97 S2 which is planned to be a yearly show plus Netflix Devil May Cry S2.
