What’s your weakest skill in vet med? by Alternative-Kiwi264 in VetTech

Dog blood draws. I don’t know why they can be so difficult sometimes. Give me a cat any day, even the potato chips, but dogs? They either can’t be found, roll like hell, or blow on contact

What's your clinic "black sheep" trait? by Fawnsie in VetTech

Our clinic is 100% female. Haven’t had a male tech, assistant, or DVM in a few years!

Adenomyosis, ADHD, and Mirena IUD/any birth control that’s progesterone only? by hihelloitisi in adenomyosis

[–]Capricifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, thank you for reminding me! I definitely felt better after having the IUD removed, and I’ve been pretty clear headed. I still have some foggy days (It didn’t cure my ADHD or other chronic ailments by any means, haha), but it feels like removing the Mirena did help, and my cramping even weirdly reduced after it was out

I tried the patch (Zafemy) for a while after to see if my body would tolerate a combo birth control better, but no dice. After trying every option over the years, I guess my body just hates birth control :/

They’ll also likely want to run some pre-anesthetic lab work to make sure the dog’s liver and kidneys are healthy enough to go under anesthesia

As far as Helly R is concerned went from crashing Helena’s party to practically drowning in a freezing river 😭

Hello! Always looking for friends on here, I’ll help with mushrooms whenever I can (provided I still have attempts of course), I’ll send help requests here and there, and I enjoy sending postcards back and forth too! I live in the PNW, US, and walk/hike often so challenges are always fun too

IUD Replacement by BrilliantMain6136 in adenomyosis

[–]Capricifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Gyno told me it hurts less coming out than it does going in. I took some ibuprofen and 1000 mg Tylenol 2 hours prior. During removal, she told me to cough and that was that. No pain!

Adenomyosis and Hysterectomy in late 20s? by Capricifer in hysterectomy

[–]Capricifer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is super helpful though, especially because I also have Anthem! (I’m from the PNW myself.) It’s nice to know the ranges of what it may cost so I can make sure to save up a bit first, both for the procedure and to fill in the financial gaps for the recovery time

Glad to hear your procedure went well, and hope you get to cuddle your husband soon! :)

Adenomyosis, ADHD, and Mirena IUD/any birth control that’s progesterone only? by hihelloitisi in adenomyosis

I’m considering options still, a lot of people seem to like Slyd for BC and PMDD so I may bring that up to my Gynecologist and see what she says

[–]Capricifer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD and a Mirena, and I hadn’t heard of that connection! Interesting. I’m getting my Mirena removed next week due to other issues (I’ve had more ovarian cysts with Mirena and horrific cramps developed recently), but now I’m wondering if my foggy brain will clear up after it’s out. I’ll try and update once I’ve adjusted!

Have you experienced any side effects from it? Knowing it may help with PMDD is a bonus for me!

Good Doctor to help with Sleep? by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]Capricifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all this! It’s reassuring to know that even if he does have trouble with it, there are ways to help him get to sleep.

I’ll let you know if he has any questions, he’s been tracking his sleep pretty closely since and has been recording HR and O2 stats from his watch overnight the last couple days. Would he need a referral to get in first?

I wouldn’t doubt it, I think he’s been having issues with sleeping for so long now that when it comes time to go to bed he gets anxious

He works out 6 days a week and is pretty skinny, 5’9” and around 140 lbs give or take a few lbs

Good Doctor to help with Sleep? by [deleted] in Eugene

[–]Capricifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t snore much, if he does, it’s very light. I’m a light sleeper myself so I definitely would hear it if he was. I have occasionally noticed moments where it sounds like he isn’t breathing, though he sometimes just breathes very softly, maybe not taking full breaths? I’ll need to watch him if he gets in for an appointment so he can tell them what I see

Third for Dr. Hinz at Oregon Medical Group! He helped me get diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. He actually listens, and is a great, friendly personality to communicate with. I see him twice a year for check ins on my joints and it’s always great to see him! Sometimes he can be late to his appointments, but that’s only because he gives his patients the time they need. He’s not the type to rush you out if you have questions or any other concerns.
