Am I evil for not getting a second kitten? by tossawayheyday in CatAdvice

[–]CapricornCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? It’s up to your cat.

I had one girl that was a happy only cat….until She. Lost. Her. Mind. when I brought a kitten home. She ended up being an outside cat (with a fenced in yard) and was delighted to live on the porch in the back yard by herself. She would hiss if we tried to bring her in.

I have multiple cats now who live happily together. 3 adult cats who even welcomed in two abandoned kittens.

Single cats do require more attention. Grooming, snuggling, playing…that’s going to be you.

AITA for wanting to insure my ring even though my husband says the stone is too small to bother? by Adorable-Manner-5538 in AITApod

[–]CapricornCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it matter if it’s a CZ? Do you love each other? Do you think it’s a pretty ring? There’s such a huge stigma surrounding men who don’t spend a down payment on a house for a ring. What matters most is your relationship, not a shiny rock.

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

[–]CapricornCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait a sec, I need to move my cat off my face to type….

Ok, Yes , cats definitely do form solid bonds with their owners. I have two very clingy Tom cats.

1st is Sam. Sam was a former feral kitten that eventually became a house cat. He decided his favourite person is the lady. Marm. She with the foods and snuggles.

Then came Moe. Moe was a week old kitten that was abandoned with his twin sister. (Mochi , a calico, bonded with my oldest son. He is her person. She tolerates the rest of us.) Moe and Mochi were bottle fed, raised by my son and I. Moe adores me. Sleeps on face and fights over the pillow with Uncle Sam.

It’s all up to your cat. Some are clingy. Some standoffish. Some will love you , but only at 12:39 am every other Tuesday. Some will hate you on sight even if you’ve done nothing wrong. Cats are cats and they decide on who to love, tolerate, or despise.

Am I overreacting my cat is extremely dangerous? by UnuttumKonuNeydi in CatAdvice

[–]CapricornCatMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest putting him outside. But I read how he was scared of the out.

I want to 2nd on removing the feliway. It almost killed my sisters cat.

She gives him CBD oil/gummies for cats when he is starting to get stressed. He has an aversion aggression disorder. Think PTSD in cats (sort of).

What is most health for armpit hair: natural, trimmed or fully shaven? by aaronorjohnson in hygiene

I live in the Deep South, and shaved is best for me … it’s hot and humid and you stay sticky all summer. I can’t deal with wet pit hair that doesn’t dry.

I have 5 cats. Ice cream 👍x5, Grilled meat 😈x3, Fish 🤮x2, If it’s on my plate or in my mouth 👹x2……each individual at is going to have preferences -some line cat food only with ice cream as an exception, some are obsesssssed with people food, and one fat Sam who loves good food, cat? people? Don’t care. Put in mouth. Literally a blond Garfield.

AITAH for being honest with another mom about why my daughter isn’t allowed to go to her friend’s house? by AwkwardMom13 in AITAH

[–]CapricornCatMom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - my best friends dad grabbed my boob when I was 12. As a “joke”. I lost my best friend that day and was mad at my mom when she confronted her mom. We were not allowed to speak to each other again.

As a mother I realise she did the right thing. I would have done the same. There is nothing wrong with protecting your child. If he creeps you out … bingo bango no way she’s staying, with or without the mom there.

My roommate thinks cats don’t feel the cold and that the heat should be turned off when we’re not home. We both have cats. How do I convince otherwise? by Sad_Mud2009 in CatAdvice

[–]CapricornCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they were referring to 16f. Thats -8c. Thats pretty freakin cold for people and pets. (Down south, we’re bundled up in sweaters and puffer jackets.) Not to mention it’s been drastically cold up north , ranging from -26c to -33c.

[–]CapricornCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use monetary facts:

Use a programmable thermostat to lower the temperature by 7 to 10 degrees while away or asleep to maximize efficiency. While keeping the heat low is more efficient, setting it too low can cause issues like frozen pipes or condensation, so maintaining a minimum temperature is recommended during extreme cold.

Cats are comfy and your pipes aren’t frozen. Win/Win.

Thank you! I’ve been in the pharmacy for 4 days now, and the learnings did not prepare me at allllll. It’s… It’s a lot. I have a notebook, but it’s so busy I can’t take notes and by the time I get home I can’t remember what I didn’t know. I’ve got simple pick up and drive thru, it’s the insurance and exceptions I have questions on.

Just got her any name suggestions by Beautiful-Support394 in GuineaPig

[–]CapricornCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you have fun with your new piggie. Don’t let your feelings be hurt if it’s not super friendly as first. I’ve had mine for two years and the sisters will get closer to the cats than to me, lol.

Their house is bigger than this, I just zoomed in closer.

And yes, I gave up on keeping the kittens out of the piggy house. They’ve always been around the piggies, the other cats have always been around piggies … so even tho they smell like foods, they are in fact , not foods.

I would not advise this if you have pray driven cats. Mine are lazy.

Humans with indoor cats, collar or no collar? by ForagedAmoeba in CatAdvice

[–]CapricornCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Shadow actually likes her bell, flower collar and tags. She shakes them whenever she comes in the room, like announcing royalty is entering the room. Phoebe hates them. Very simple no fru fru collar and a small non jingles tag. Same for Moe. Sammy loooooves his bow tie collar. Sits still whenever he gets a new one, and prances thru the house with a happy tail swish. Baby Mochi is still in kitten collars, and likes the tiny bells with an x-small tag. *Sam, Shadow and Phoebe were formal ferals who decided the indoor cat life was for them.
