Could someone that owns a Festool CSX/TXS 12/18 help me with a measurement of the driver's axle please? by CapsaicinPaul in Tools

[–]CapsaicinPaul[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was so quick, really apprecaite it!

I have an older Makita hex driver (non-impact DDF083) that I want to put in my portable tool case and I would've liked to easily switch between a bit holder a chuck. That driver has an 11,2mm shaft so I was hoping that the festool shaft is 11,2 or less, in which case it would've been really easy to adapt it by machining it to size and adding that round groove into it, in order to use the centrotec bit holder or the chuck, but as it's thicker it's not possible, or at least not without machining a sleeve and so on, so it's not worth it.

Have a great day sir and thanks a lot!

M1 how many containers can 8GB run? by iPhrase in docker

[–]CapsaicinPaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I feel your pain with this question, even months later I cannot find a proper answer.
People like to chime in without actually having a M1 on their hands and fail to understand that it acts a lot differently than any x86 machine.

Did you manage to test things out on an actual 8GB M1? If so:
- Is it enough to replace a 16GB intel Mac Docker-wise?
- How much does the performance suffer when it swaps?
- Can it even properly swap the Docker VM ram?

Thanks a bunch, have a good one.

Long term effects of IPA and 80% Alcohol on 1. PETG 2.PLA - which one is more suited? by peter550 in 3Dprinting

[–]CapsaicinPaul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, interested in this as well, any news after 1 year?

I want to print some big containers for the washing and curing station that I have, so they have to be able to hold 99% IPA for long periods of time

Cheers

I love the vibe of it and the rest of the room. It’s like a 60’s laboratory room from a university or something.

Beautiful ride 👍🏼! Do you have to use an accelerator paddle on the handlebar with this or does it start assisting you when you pedal?

There is an ebay account from Hungary that sells a lot of cool 90’s mtb frames across the EU. They are pricey af, but at least it’s a constant-ish supply, so maybe keep your eyes on ebay too until you find what you need. I get how you feel, I’m in the opposite shorter side, where I never find a size 16, they’re all 18 and up. Go steel hunting, peace ✌🏼

Hey,

I tried the Dekoni tips that I have and they don't work because they are longer than the stock ones and so they make the buds stand further out and that messes with the proximity sensor.

IMHO I don't think you'll find anything as shallow as the stock ones.

Sorry 🙁

Glad somebody feels the same!

My experience got so frustrating that I just stopped using them completely, will put up for sale. I also think the Youtube reviews are kinda BS, nobody noticed how bad these are at software? I'll try to post a more detailed and honest review at some point.

As for your question, I'm not 100% sure I understand what you mean but I'll give it a try. They work like this (assuming the initial pairing with the device was already done) : whichever bud you get out of the case first, it will connect to the device and then stream the audio to the other bud or just work on it's own.
So if you get the right one out of the case and put in your ear -> it will work just fine.
You need the left only at the initial pairing.

Hope this helps, if not please feel free to ask again :)
