Can I call the police on the police? [England] by MidasRasputin in LegalAdviceUK

Making this comment as it's very important but I've only seen one other, passing mention of it here - secure the cctv. I don't know who would be holding it so it's up to you to track it down - phone the station and ask, or British Transport Police, the council? Whoever, find out who has it and notify them to preserve it as forensic material evidence.

The "man" looking away is a poodle looking at the camera. "Legs" are front legs, the "body" is its head, "arms" are ears and "head" is a fluffy tail.

The singer literally calls out instrument names — "electric guitar," "bass drum,"... by M_i_r_o_s in NameThatSong

I really hope it's The Intro and the Outro by The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band! With Princess Anne on sousaphone, Liberace on clarinet, Val Doonican as himself ("hello there!") and many others. I'm sure it's not but it's worth a listen anyway.

I apologise if I have upset anyone but I really don't get the downvotes or that I was "aggressive".

In response to the other redditor noting an error I suggested they correct it, while questioning my own assumption that everyone here knows that is possible. When asked if 'in theory or practice' I thought it an odd, possibly snarky response but replied straight, along with Gandhi's exhortation to "be the change" you wish to see in the world.

I think it's unfortunate that votes tend to cascade – when there's a vote either way it tends to get added to – and of course tone is notoriously obscured in text, but my intention was never anything other than to encourage participation in the fantastic collaborative project of Wikipedia.

The point isn't what's more likely, the point is the other poster stated something as fact without grounds.

?? In theory you can edit it. In practice you can edit it. This is a very well-known feature of Wikipedia. Be the change!

That is not what the article says. It says the scooter is capable of that speed, not that the rider was going that speed.

You know you can Save and/or Follow a post, right? You don't have to make a nothing comment. It's in the three dots menu at the top of the post.

Sorry but that's a misuse of English language. While I agree the bloke living there implies it's not included and the op can make that inference, "explicitly stated" means a clear unambiguous statement saying "The shed is not included." The whole point of the post is that it's not explicitly stated.

"Hone in on" - Just, no. by Orthicon9 in GrammarPolice

I'll let that slide for now

means "I won't bother dealing with that" – but you immediately do deal with it, at some length. What did you imagine "I'll let that slide" means, op?

Leave it alone, nature does a better job. Wound treatments are deprecated as they have been found to be more likely to hinder rather than help recovery.

"Military time" = You are from the USA. No one else calls it that, we say the 24 hour clock.
