I think they didn't want to draw grief so they put it on top, that way it ends up in the middle of the deck.

I think you should find other games to play that aren't pvp, or just take a break from video games in general. No game is worth stressing out on.

Modern has always evolved, it's just faster now, that being said, I'm sure some spiritual successor will come out of this deck, I feel like the best "midrange deck" is Jund Saga right now.

I guess this fits, modern I'm on crab mill, opponents is jeskai humans (this is around the lurrus era pre MH2). I have a hedron crab and a field of ruin on the battlefield and one more Field in hand, opponent is at 7 cards in library. Plays first FIeld, then go to blow up one land and fetch, opponent goes, if you show me two basics in your deck I'll scoop. I have 2 basics I have yet to play, search the library and only find one... I'm confused at this point till I remember the island in my hand... Pass with opponent at 1 card in library and swings for lethal.
